Am I strong enough?

So, tomorrow I go to see a new podiatrist. One who doesn't know anything about my addiction history. I am sooooo worried that I may not have the strength to tell him not to prescribe me any narcotics. I mean I don't want to go back to using, but how tempting that is!!! I mean you guys have all been so supportive, and I love it. But only one of you truly knows me. Do I have what it takes to do the right thing?

YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I DO!!! I AM STRONG ENOUGH TO SAY NO!! I WILL NOT GO BACK TO BEING THE WAY I WAS! WON'T HAPPEN. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME, I'M IN CONTROL. SO FOR ANY OF YOU THAT READ THE TOP PART AND WAS GONNA TELL ME NO I'M NOT STRONG ENOUGH....... KISS MY IMPERFECT ***!!

LOL. That felt good. I was just venting guys, you know I have much love for my MH peeps.

John

hey john congrads on 20 days clean...I to suffer with chronic pain in my back...but
once your off the narcotics a wile you will start to see that otc stuff like motrin actually
works your body just has to reset its pain clock and once the rebound pain is gone
the otc stuff starts to work...also there are alot of new pain meds on the market now that are non narcotic to try out...they block the pain to brain channel and work differently
then narcotics mabe ask the dr about one of them...good luck and God bless...Gnarly

Just tell him you are allergic to opiates and if needed only order an antinflammatory or even otc pain meds if needed.Antiinflammatories do as good a job as any narcotic without the rebound pain.I know cause I have pain in my feet and take otc pain meds with no rebound pain.

You keep your sprits up!!!! You can do it and You are on your way!!! NO NEED TO GO BACK TO  NASTY NARCOTICS..... Yes, while you take it, feels good alright, but you know to get off is HELLLLLL. Trust me I was on them for 14 years, due to 2 car accidents. I had to go to treatment and it cost me and arm & leg. SO-TO ALL THOSE WHO DID WITHOUT TREATMENT, HATS OFF TO EVERYONE!!! KEEP IT UP!!! NASTY BLUE PILL. God Bless and I will keep you in my prayers!

Adios

I guess that's my answer to my question in my previous post. I totally see where your coming from. When I start getting down on myself or I have a dream about standing in line at the clinic and that miserable nurse yells "next single dose!" and I can almost taste the Methadone slipping down my throat. I get a positive anger in me and I wanna yell, "It's not F-ing worth it!"

Hey John!!

HELL YA YOUR STRONG ENOUGH!!  That sneaky little addict voice is always going to be whining at us that we just we can't live without those pills, that we might as well just give in and get a prescription.  BULL SHITE!  Just keep telling it to "get behind thee" and let the real strength come in!!  When you get into the office.. tell the doctor straight away (like the first thing out of your mouth!!) that you can NOT have narcotics/and or addictive drugs.  That way you put yourself a step ahead of the deceiving little addict that will try anything to trick you into "just one more time".

- one time is too many.. a thousand never enough!
