You are definitely off to a good start. If you continue with your taper then you will succeed. Your determination is admirable!
So I talked to someone and based on my circumstances, I am going to do the taper off way. I didn't know tramadol was in the same class so I guess I was taking more than I thought (all prescribed and taken as directed) but I stopped the tramadol a few weeks ago because I didn't think they were working. Needless to say today was very rough. I know there are others out there worse than me and I pray they make it through and stay tough. It has been 48 hours. I am going to try this sleep thing and start tomorrow with a new thinking. Tapering off and talk to doc about it. Thanks for your post and I will check back in and wish all suffering from this the best of luck!
Painkillers aren't always the evil things we make them out to be. If they help you to live a normal life, then they are doing an effective and helpful job. Keep taking them as prescribed. The problem occurs when you start taking more than medically needed. But quitting them is up to you.
Sorry I need to elaborate... I was taking one a day to function for a long time. I have degenerated disc disease and just past September had three disc replaced. I'm still in a lot of pain (not sure now if it is the drugs since my X-rays and Mir look good). The neuro doc used it to three a day plus two muscle relaxers and tramadol. I stopped everything but the hydrocodone because I feel I need it to get out of bed and function. These last three days have been rough. Need help!!
If you don't need them..(you didn't say why you were taking them)....I would continue on with the ct. You're almost outta the woods...addicted, dependant ..it's subjective...but there are other pain mngmnt drugs that could work that don't cross the blood brain barrier .......others will be by to give you info on that but in the meantime...tell us a bit more. ((((8)))) spider
I was on the same dose as you and prescribed. If your on day 3 you are doing great. I'm am.tryin to taper but still having some wd. You are physically dependant as am i. I am sure.there will be someone along with much better advice than i. But you are doing great
