Hi and welcome I would suggest Unisom its a OTC sleep aid. It has helped me but I had to take six for just a light sleep. Also Imodium is the best help. I am on day 3 and seems to be letting up on symptoms a little bit. You can do it. reading Posts here is what got me by.
i agree,,,im not into the valium...sounds hardcore.in the recipie...i can see me asking dealer "hey got any valiums....no but got your favorite...yjkes" ....i will smoke .W---...since im not a smoker..i think ill munchie my way to sleep....i sue "simply sleep" i take 4....then read...my eyes get so sore...i can always catch a few hours.....
Also I did this cold turkey 2 years ago from 120mg methadone and this time I am detoxing from a 240 mg oxy habbit and so far it's not nearly as bad as the methadone
My dr gave me hydroxyzine instead of Valium. Into a antihistamine. Supposed to help you sleep and relax although it doesnt do much for me. Valium didn't either, but there are alternatives.
I went ahead and picked up some unisom. Hit the wall about an hour ago.. really feel like crap. Was hoping day 1 wouldn't be this hard... this is gonna be a long week, but gotta stick with it.
You don't have to have the Valium. It is for sleeping the withdrawals away and it might or might not work.
Hot bath sure helped a lot. Guess even if you erase someone's number it doesn't keep them from texting you... I stayed strong and didn't respond.. 24 hours down..
Hot baths are a life saver for WD. I am just about to hit the 48 hr mark of suboxone WD. Feel bad, but man do baths help. I think it's the heat and weightlessness that's lets your muscles relax. Can't over stat baths enough. Should even try to get to a hot tub.
I am in the first week of sub w/d also. I slipped yesterday after 4 days clean. They were the hardest 4 days I've experienced since the detoxed from a heavy oxy habit in 2009 when I had my son. To be honest, I work in a cold factory for 11hrs a day & keeping myself busy has helped. I didn't work yesterday & that's when I slipped. I've been taking sublingual vitamin b-12 tabs & lots of fluids. Also caffiene, greasy/spicy/fatty foods make diarreaha (can't ever spell that right...) a lot worse. So don't drink coffee or lower your intake. Also, make sure you eat SOMETHING, even if its just some bread. I have to continue to work while my skin is trying crawl off of my body while my stomachs trying to crawl out. You will feel better soon & once its over you will be proud of yourself. I also go to AA/NA meetings but they don't really help, most of the people that go are court-ordered & just want to *****. Good luck! Tomorrow is a new day!
Didn't realize I swore there, sorry! Oh and if you take the benzos, you may just trade one addiction for another. That's how many of us get cross-addicted. I take a hot shower every night. I don't have sleep issues (yet anyway) because I work my butt off all day. Try to surround yourself with people who'll support your struggle & appreciate your efforts! Hang in there!
Just to b clear the valium is for the anxiety from withdrawal not sleeping through withdrawal and there r otc and herbal anxiety rememdies
