You will find the first few months your pain will seem worse your body wants its fix .Then with a little time you will probably find that your pain level reduces.Lots of us started using because of a chronic pain issues there are ways to handle your pain without narcotics but it does take time.
Hey Dave. How are you during the day? Can you go to work? I'm getting a little anxious about tonight but I'm pretty determined. Thanks for the advice. I agree getting rid of them is a good idea
Take my advise and get rid of all the drugs stick with the tylenol for pain Im on day 3 and it hurts real bad night time ***** but just bear it it will pass Dave
Theres not anything that will take the pain of w/ds away but just keep posting and listening to everyone as everyone has their own little bit that can help. If you cant eat keep on taking vitamins, Indian tonic water (the quinine helps with the rls) and so does the bananas. Please get rid of the pills they will just tempt you into taking them. Its not worth it youll just start all over again tomorrow. This is gonna be quite bad im not gonna lie, but it will be worth it. Good luck you can do this
Thanks. Yeah I'm not going to touch the vic. I'm concerned about what I'm going to do after all this when I'm in pain. Any ideas?
Its not a good idea for you to have any vics around AT ALL I would either flush them or give them to someone else.If you cant eat the at least make sure you drink you don't want to get dehydrated. Its going to be a rough 3or 4 days but you can make it threw continuing to take the vics is only going to prolong it .Yes muscle relaxers help heating pads electric blankets wrapped tight around your legs help.Try to at least eat some bananas you need the potassium.Soda water can help with the RLS as well. You can get threw this
Thanks Sophie. What about muscle relaxers? I have those. I'm only thinking for nightime. I'm ok during the day. I'm soooo tempted to take a vic before bed. I'm sure that won't be smart. Thanks so much for your help.
Hey there,
I completely agree with enemy but i'd like to add that you can go thru the thomas recipe, scroll down, bottom right, most viewed health pages.
What also really helps are hot showers or baths. the more you sweat, the faster the detox.
You gonna think I'm crazy but exercise as much as you can -which cannot be a lot- but believe me it helps.
I would not go on the xanax or valium, those are highly addictive benzos and you don't wanna have to kick off from them.
I wish you all the best, keep posting, keep us updated and hang in there.
There's a LOT of people here to help you.

That sounds like it's going to be fun. I work in TV and it can get busy but if I need to take time I will. I actually feel ok at the moment. I'm able to sit without feeling anxious. Thanks for the warning about driving I have 2 kids and I think I'll stay from doing that. Thanks for your help
Glad you have muscle relaxers. Spread them out because you will soon start experiencing real bad body aches.
I don't mean to discourage you, but you won't be sleeping much in a few days. So try to get something for that too. Even if it's just Tylenol PM.
What kind of work do you do? If you feel too bad to work, you can just say you have the flu. You'll definitely look and feel that way, so everyone will believe you.
Be very careful driving because you'll have very little concentration. You'll go through a phase of what will seem like ADD. It'll be hard to remember what you were doing just 5 minutes before....and that can last awhile.
The clock will have seemed to stop. One minute will seem like an hour, so listen to good music, watch movies and take walks and listen to the birds sing and notice how many leaves are on the trees. Almost immediately you'll notice all the little things that you didn't before. You may even start to smile a lot for no reason. People will notice a different face on you soon too.....in a good way....and that will make you proud.
Be strong and love yourself for what you're doing.
Best Wishes.
This is the first time. I've gone through this before when I was out of pills but it was only a day. So this i'm used too this which ***** because it's going to get worse. Plus i'm going to work tomorrow which i feared at first but keeping busy makes this a little easier.
I have muscle relaxers but didn't want to take them. I'm thinking I'd use those at night if i can't sleep. Thanks for the advice.
Hi Danny~
It sounds like this is the first time you've attempted to detox.
I hope you've educated yourself. If not, start now and read, read, read. Get helpful ingredients suggested in the health pages.
Stay on this forum as much as possible. Weekends are slow, but come Monday, you'll have tons of support. Ask all the questions you'd like.
As for the shakes, do you have any valium or xanix? It can help if you do, but only take small bite size pieces throughout the day.
Sorry to say, but detox is horrible. I had several failed attempts. So if you don't make it this time, just try again. But I hope you do!
Best Wishes.
Thank you for your post. I know that it's going to get a little worse from reading on this site for half the day. The confusing thing is some people say to taper it off and some say cold turkey. Then most say it takes 1 to 2 weeks but i read a post just now that said 3 months. I'm guessing everyone is different and the addiction is different. I feel like taking one obviously all the while saying just one but I haven't. Thanks so much for the advice. I hope your husband gets through it and stays away from this stuff.
The shaking will pass, my husband is on day 3 of detox from oxy's and yesterday was his day 2 and the worst for him, shaking all morning violently. I was giving him a full spectrum mineral supplement throughout the day. And potassium is great for the shaking and restless leg effects..so that is in a mineral supplement as well as eating banana's and drinking beverages that have potassium in them. It won't last forever though it may feel like it. For him it was 1/2 of the day yesterday then it just stopped. So I believe the extra minerals and potassium greatly helped him. Also having a hot bath to relax may help as well and make you feel a little better. Try to get yourself to sleep through the worst of it. I'm not a doctor but he was taking over the counter sleep aids to help him sleep all day and night. If you can eat do it even if your not really hungry just keeping something in your stomach will help your body get through this.
Thanks. What do you do for all this shaking? Eating????
no. and then what are gonna do after that one fades....??? take another? and another...? and then 2 more? it never ends with "Just one"....deal with the withdrawls and you'll be through them in no time.
