Please docs very well know all the pain pills period. So to say that docs do extensive investagation into all drugs is a very misleading statement.
There are not that many pain killers out there and you can bet the docs know them all well. I do agree that docs tend to just beleive what the drug sales person tells them but that is not a excuse. I know more docs than I can count and one of the major issues almost all of them have is denial. This is a drug that kills you can take a whole lot more of oxys and still be a live but Trams have been known to stop a person breathing and been fatal under 600mgs. I said this almost a year ago when I got clean off this drug thta its way more dangerous and the wds are much harder than most people think.
BTW anyone thta thinks that the FDA and the Phrams compaines do not sleep in the same bed needs a reality check. The FDA is a horrible beast of the government and anyone that comes up with something very natural and starts to eat into the profit of drugs they will be knocking on your door. I know I been there with the idiots when I use to make natural progesterone cream for women as opposed to premarin which is made of horse urine and known to cause cancer.
Peace
in the beginning ultram was marketed as non habit forming, i started taking it for period cramps in high school, i remember the sample boxes had these big butterflies on them, i loved getting my butterfly medicine, this was 15 or so yrs ago
thats good that the print outs are starting to have more information about ultram, sometimes people need to take medication the fight is more about education than should this person or that person take a certain type of medication, as long as its clear to the consumer
GA oh i do think in the begaining it was totted as non addictive. The first time the doctor told me it clould be addictive (which I had already read in the stuff from the praramisrythat it was long ago )was in1999.now when we moved toWA STATE they would not prescribe it it was cinsisdered addictive. when I mosved back to New York they handed it out like it was motrin.so there I went again. something needs to be done. However always ask the pharmasist what you are putting in you body and how its going to react with what ever else you are taking.
First off, you can't sure for malpractice in this situation. If we all sued for wrong or misleading information from a doctor, then there would be no more doctors. Plus, I honestly believe some doctors THINK that a)Tramadol isn't an opiate, and b) that Tramadol is not addictive. The reason they believe this is because that's what they're told. Do you think every doctor does an extensive class on every new medication that comes out? No, they rely on information given to them by the manufacturer. Is it right? I don't think so..but, that's the way it is. When Tramadol came out, it was marketed as a nonopiate, nonaddictive medication that was a better alternative than other opiates for pain relief. That's why it's Schedule 4 by the FDA. This isn't the first drug that's been marketed this way at first. Benzos and barbiturates were heralded as wonder drugs when they came out, and dispensed like candy. It's just how out system works.
Your correct in a way but you are missing the point. When Trams first came out every doc told folks its not a opiate lie number 1 and its not habit forming lie number 2.
You still live in a society where most folks think the word of their doc is the final say and is good enough. Even today your still hearing this on these boards my doc says its ok and not habit forming. If your smart tape the doc then get him for mal practice for all you can.
Peace
yes part of the reason is you putting stuff in your body without reading what you are putting in your body I new tramadol could be addicting I choose to take it but I am sure not going to say I didnt know .Not to mention when you pick up your skript at the doctors ask the phamasy about it .This is your body your life plz make sure you know what you are putting in it.
That is not the problem about reading the inserts! The problem is with the tons of doctors telling their patients its not habit forming and after they say that very few will ever read the inserts nor do the docs read it!
Peace
