Tramadol user

Hi, my name is Crystal. I have been on Lortab 10 for 2.5 years, and then tramadol for 6 months. I hated it. I'd see people walking around and enjoying themselves and they looked as if they needed no help from a drug. My problem is a buldging disk. Not such a big deal right, unless it was beat in your head by a doctor that something was seriously wrong with you. Several things......No Xray or nothing. Just here, take this twice daily everyday and you'll feel better. Boy did I! I hated pills, I'd never go to a doctor or anything..I made the mistake and did. Never again. I've missed too much of the past few years being high, and I regret it. You can't go back into time. I'm so angry with myself....

So, day one. Flushed it all. Everything........Felt fine until the evening time. I couldn't sleep, but I managed. MMMM 5 Coffee's in the am still didn't touch the fatigue. OH lord day two. I think I caught the flu. My whole body ached. I was in pain everywhere. I screamed for Tylenol. Yeah, it helped! 4-6 hours. My muscles just felt as if they were tearing apart. I was puking, sneezing, caughing, crying uncontrollably (no joke) going to the bathroom every hour. Oh, it's horriable. But it can be done. If I can do it, you can to. They mental pain was so bad I had to leave work. I am now on day three and taking baby steps. I woke up this morning with energy again. Very little, but some. You need to start vitamins the day you plan to start detoxing. If you do, this will help. Everything your body trys to get rid of, the vitamin will put back. I am sure it will take around a week to feel much, much better, but you are starting your recovery process. Thank God! He is helping you through this touch time. Without Gods help, you can drive yourself insane. Thank Him for what he is doing for you. I do and it helps. The second that something upsets me, I think get a tab, but I remember I don't have any and ask God to help me through it. The anxiety attacks,,,,,,just breathe and it to shall pass. Find support. You will need that. NO DRAMA at all. Don't listen to it. You don't need it.

Get busy, when you are moving your not hurting. When you stay still, or seated the mental pain sets in. You body releases endorphins to heal and prevent pain. Your body doesnt know to release if your not moving. Don't take anything for the pain after a few days, let your body heal itself. You need this. Stay strong.  If you have made it through day two, your doing great. Don't relasp. Tell your self you don't need it. You'll be fine, Oh to sleep. Warm milk.....maybe grose, but it relaxes the body and all the muscles. Please email me if any of this has helped you, or you need some advice. ***@****

Stay strong

Hey~  Good for you!!   That's a tough detox with TWO meds!  But,you sound good...
Do you have any aftercare plans? Support group? NA?  Long term recovery care is important to avoid relapse.
Keep posting~

You are on the right track and we are glad you are here. Trust and lean on our Lord,,,, Our God is mighty to save! Your only job right now is to not put a pill into your system one day at a time. The w/d's will pass eventually but like TH said the trams hold on for awhile. Keep your focus the same, grateful, determined and focused on Gods power and your battle is won!

Everyone here is so helpful so feel free to reach out!

I just prayed for you,

Great, great job!  I have been addicted and detoxed from both drugs, and they would be difficult at the same time, so you are doing well and having the right attitude.  Tramadol is the biggie!  The withdrawals from it are better for a bit (maybe one hour and maybe one day) and then they slap you in the head again.....trying to make sure that they have your full and undivided attention!!! : )  Lortab is more linear.  The bad withdrawal from those will be over in a few days.  Not so with the tram.  That could go on for awhile, especially the energy and sleep.  It makes sense that if you can't sleep then you have no energy during the day, right?  The vitamins do help and so does the support.  ANY support that you can get and any faith that you have will help very much.

I have been off tram for awhile, but I had surgery and had to take some Percocet for a few days, and I actually had about a day and a half of bad WD again, so just watch the temptation to think that MAYBE you could take it again if you're careful.  That thought has gotten me in trouble MANY times over the past 15 years or so.  And I believe that there are many people here who have relapsed by thinking that same thing and by having no support system!

Best wishes and luck to you!

great advice there!  Glad to hear you are doing so well on day 3, been there and done that.  I didn't have a problem with tramadol, but did with lortab.  Been clean 117 days today, and never want any opiates again.  Horrible stuff!  Welcome to this forum.  It is a wonderful place with many caring people who have been through this, or are going through this.  Stay strong, you will feel so much better after about a week.   Sleep will return also.  And you are so right.  If you don't dwell on the mental part, you can make it!!
Great luck to you Crystal, and keep posting.  Will keep you in my prayers :)
