Thanks so much, i never knew what the withdrawl would be like. i was put on it for arthritis pain my dr knowing i was in recovery! Im not blaming but suprised she put me on it. i wish i never took it!
how, we are not allowed to do a taper schedule post. Everyone's medical condition is different and you might not do well medically. The thing is to do it slow and methodically. Post in the journal I listed and see if they can help. Keep trying.
i have 90 50mg tabs anyone have a taper shedule that works?
i was taking 500mgs and when down to 300mg then stopped!
Randy is correct-I had a 24-30 50mg pill a day habit from 2008-09. Over a year on it. I went Cold Turkey and I will tell you, it WAS hell! The toughest part for me was not being able to sleep- I remember I actually got so frustrated that I literally beat myself in the forehead and bruised myself up pretty good. I think on the 5th or 6th night, I actually got some sleep, and it was easier everyday after that. About day 12 I began to feel normal, so hang in there, you CAN MAKE IT!!
Search "EmilyPost" on this site! She is the original amazing "Tramadol Warrior", and you will see MANY posts and journals by her. Those helped me DRASTICALLY when I went through the Tramadol W/D.!
Hey if you are clean 5 days best to keep going. You are going to have to face up to the fact that you are going to have insomnia for several weeks. Insomnia is worse with Tramadol than the other "true" opiates. I tapered and I still got no sleep for over a week, then very little for several weeks. I found that rather than getting mad, I did better just accepting the fact that I was going to be awake and I watched movies or stuff that interested me via Netflix on a laptop. I kept it in bed and during the movies I would often get a few minutes of sleep that I know I would not have gotten had I been laying in bed wishing I was asleep. Good luck! You CAN make it through this!! You should begin to feel much better any day now. We are all different and no way to say sleep will come...but it will and you will be thankful! -Randy
so u have already been clean for a week?? That's awesome, are u starting to feel any better, besides the not sleeping? I would try to just keep moving forward without it, if you can. You are already through the worst of the physical part. Week 2 may be hard, but just think about how you felt when u were sober for 2 years....i am sure it was much better & in order to get back to that, you will need to go thru this part. But u won't ever have to do it again. Good luck & keep posting!!!
How much have you jumped from?? Others who have had experience will be by to help, but more info will help. Glad you got here!
