Ultram- What is this?

I have been having really bad headaches  and my doctor gave me Ultram.  He says its not a narcotic but it makes me nervous.  Is it addictive - if so, how?  I am nervous because I just recently stopped taking Lortab- I dont want to go down that path again.

I'd rather go CT from 8 vicodin then just 3 tramadol (personal experience). I find the worse part being depression - it is crushing and lasts a long time. I ended up back on my doc just trying to get out of the WD hell brought on by tramadol.

A doctor would prescribe Ultram because....Most doctors don't know that it's addictive.  Most doctors will tell you it's non addictive.  That's what my doctor told me.  I've been taking them for 6 months now and I'm in the process of trying to slowly ween myself off.  I quit c/t and ended up in the ER!!!

PLEASE do NOT start taking this EVIL med.!!!

WOW- I justread some info about this.  WHY ISNT THIS A LEVEL II or III Narcotic? And why in the hell would a doctor rather prescribe this than a vic or lortab.  I AM NOT going to take these- some scary ****.  Although I dont want to go back down the lortab road the only other thing I have to take is tylenol 3- dont really want to go down that road either.  Its such a double edged sword being in pain but also knowing you are an addcit or have the potential to be.
