i have to agree with avis..narcotics do NOT work on migraine headaches.
Narcotics dont work on migranies . They will get rid of headaches of other types .30mg perks is alot for a heardache it is oxycondone.
They are the same medication, just different delivery. Both contain oxycodone. The oxycontin is delivered as a time release- certain amt over long period of time. The percocet contains tylenol and the med is delivered all at once. I'd suggest a quiet, dark room, ice pack, ibuprofen and time.
Both have the drug oxydodone in them. The oxycontin is designed to be time released (-contin = continuous). It delivers a certain amt of drug at a constant rate. the percocet is oxycodone w/acetominophen (tylenol). It is designed to deliver a certain amt of drug all at once. So while they are both the same drug, they are delivered a bit different. If you take them for a headache, chances are once it wears off the h/a will return and be worse. I'd suggest a quiet, dark room; an ice pack, some ibuprofen, and time.
Percocet isn't made in a 30mg strength, only 5mg, 7.5 mg and 10mg. Percocet is oxycodone and tylenol. Oxycontin is oxycodone in a time released pill. They used to make a capsule of 15mg of fast release oxycodone that people called percocet 15's but that was a misnomer. I'm not sure that they still make them here in the US.
oxycotin i believe is way stronger. be careful taking percs for a migraine. there are other things out there for that. hope someone can come along and let you know what you can take. but, please wait, until then before taking.
Welcome to the forum! Ive never heard of a Percocet 30mg, but Percocet and Oxycontin are not the same thing...I believe that Oxycontin is time released while Percocet is not...please someone correct me if Im wrong...hope this helps!
