Vicodin Addiction

I have a neighbor/friend who is addicted to Vicodin.  I don't know what to do because I didn't realize until just recently this person is addicted. They went cold turkey cause they couldn't get any pills, but now they can and  sd. they'll pick them up and won't take them. They  want to quit but refuses to tell spouse. We both have families and I feel like my life has got sucked into this...I'm starting to realize that the problem is more serious than I thought. I think this person hasn't been completely honest with me as to how serious this is. What should I do?

We became such good friends over the last year, our families hang out together.  Yes children are involved and I've seen some red flags to cause me concern. Right now I feel like it's not my place to call spouse.  Thinkin about givin person a chance to do that on their own 1st.

Thanks for the quick response, I've never had to deal with this before and didn't see the signs for a long time.

Hi~  Not much you can do.  :(    If this person is picking up some pills,I promise you he/she is going to take them.

If this were me,I'd really distance myself from this person.  It is a friend BUT you have a family and cannot get sucked in to this drama.  Are there children involved? Are
they well cared for?  My only concern would be for the children right now.  If it appears that they are in ANY danger, call the spouse ASAP.

Keep in touch~
