TO ALL OF YOU TRAMADOL USERS AND ABUSERS: I have been reading on here how many people are users and abusers of tramadol.  I have a very important message for you that you may not be aware of.  DO NOT take tramadol if you are already taking any anti-depressant called an SSRI (serum-serotonin re-uptake inhibitor).  If you are unsure if your med is an SSRI, ask your pharmacist (many anti-depressants are).  They is a contraindication with these two meds., if you take them together, you will almost always develop what is called serotonin syndrome.  In short, it causes a build up of serotonin in the brain and can lead to headaches/migraines, seizures and even death.  Please be careful if you use tramadol either necessarily or recreationally.  I am NOT a doctor, but was in the medical field for several years and have seen seizures repeatedly from this combination of meds.

I have been on Tramadol for two years. This Sunday I tried to stop using it. I have had three days of hell, can’t sleep I can hardly stands my limbs have uncontrollable spasms flue like symptoms and the list goes on. Needles to say I had to go and fill my prescriptions and I am going to try and wean myself off slowly. This drug should be off the market.

I have seizures once in while and was put on that, it will cause seizures!!!! Thanks to avis i got rid of them right away!

My doc gave me the trams, flexeril and I started taking the chantix (stop smoking pill), something was interacting b/c I was getting horrible pressure headaches...like the top of my head was going to pop off.  I asked the pharmacy if they know if any of the drugs counteracted and they said no.  I dont know if chantix dosent have enough info yet to say this but something happened, and I know a lot of people have to quit smoking during a back injury and need pain meds, so if you guys know if any of these counteract I would like to know I wasnt just making that headache up b/c it really hurt.  I quit taking everything and now just take aleve for pain, which dosent work as well but its better than having sezures lol.  Thanks for the info thou!!

great info to the newbies. i also read that tramadol was for short term use only, like 7 days. i abused it for years. its the devil drug.
