It's me again. lol Just wanted to let you know if the doctor supplies the sub and you go to your first appt. in withdrawals, there is a chance he will start you that day. Even if he doesn't supply it , if you know where you can get it filled quickly he might do the induction. All these doctors seem to be so different , so best of luck. Mary
Hi im just new here, but i want to say i can honestly say i know how you feel. Goodluck with the suboxone, im on it too 32mg a day however its not holding they are now going to take bloods to see if my motabalisim is too fast. Anyways there is a light at the end of that withdrawl tunnel, and i wish you the best of luck, and also a great doctor - if you have a good one they can make all the difference. Feeling for you x
good luck. B strong. Don't let me down. Day 32 for me.
I don't have much to say about oxy because I never took it....but i want to wish you GOODLUCK! You seem determined......
You're almost there, man!!! I know you have been waiting a LONG time for this appt...I hope your induction is the same day...I'd make all the calls so you're ready to roll............I'm excited for/with you!!!
I so want everything to go smoothly for you, so a couple questions and some suggestions. Does your doctor supply the suboxone? Most do not. If not, call your local pharmacies and see if they keep suboxone in stock. This is a very exspensive drug and many pharmacies don't keep it in stock (at least in my area) I had to call 5 to find one that stocks it. Knowing where you are going to fill this script will make things go alittle smoother.
Make sure you follow what the doctor says about being in withdrawal. If it's 18 or 24 hours or longer. I was 18 hours into withdrawal and not sure it was long enough. Do not try to cheat on this. You must not take any pills for the amount of time your doctor says. When you take your first dose (under the tongue) keep your head forward and try not to swallow for at least 5 mins. Don't talk, drink or smoke.
I am telling you these things because no one told me. lol I hope it all goes smoothly. Best wishes. Mary
fighter-- thanks man.. I appriciate your support..
Allaboutmary-- God I hope that isnt the case.. From what I was told, I have to talk to the DR first for him to even say if I am eligible for it(which the opperator said I should be), but if I have to wait a week or so afetr the 26th!! aghhhhhh, I think id be screwed~
Lets just hope for the best, and I am trying to stay positive and hopeful.. But today is rough for me with so little meds, and being so close to help.. But it seems like forever because of the pain I am in, and also the light withdrawl feelings..
Your first appointment is probably just a consultation if they didn't tell you to be in withdrawal. You need to find out when your induction appt. is. Some doctors will schedule you again in a week for the induction. I know you are anxious to get going on this and I don't want you to be disapointed. So maybe just give the doc a call and find out when your induction could be scheduled. Have a great day. Mary
great job bro... you're doing awesome at weaning yourself down... i wish you luck bro!
G2MI-- Since my appointment is on the 26th and knowone from the office said that I had to be in withdrawls when I come in how is that going to work? Also, they even said that they were going to do a blood test to make sure that I test positive for opiates to see if I am even eligible for suboxone.. I am assuming that the DR will tell me to wait so many hours of taking no opiates to go into withdrawl before I take the sub, but I have also heard that the DR has to administer the first dose and monitor you to see if it goes ok.. Kind of confused, but I will just go into the appointment open minded and willing to do whatever he asks me to do..
Fletterby- yes that was an extreme amount of oxy I was taking and I thank god that I am alive to get the chance to manage my addcition, and make sure that I NEVER ABUSE LIKE THAT AGAIN! I am so excited, yet scared all at one time.. I KNOW I C AN DO THIS!
BTW, that is a ridiculous amount of Oxy you were taking.
Many well wishes to you. You have such a good spirit that I pick up on even through this computer.... proud of you...
You are doing great! Keep it up. Remember that you have to be in withdrawls to start Suboxone.
