Went to the DR and we have a plan.

First off, my family dr is just helping comfortably come off of the Oxy, but she made it clear it is up to me to get the counseling etc... to control my addiction. So she prescribed me enough for 30 mg a day for 3 weeks. She wants me to honestly track my usage,(even if I get them from someone else) by day. Then she wants to do a 30 day taper plan. She has me on Cymbalta for the anxiety and depression etc... So It is not as good as being able to quit cold turkey she feels as my body craves lower and lower doses it should give me a better chance to not have as bad of cravings afterward. So I am going to continu to my therapist, I start physical therapy on Saturday and I have an NA sponsor "Eddie", so I will be going to these meeting right along. Thanks for all of the support right along. This feels like the right plan for me and I wil follow through with it.
Thanks,
Randy

P lus I had an absolute fear of withdrawal from the Tramadol which made it worse.

She had me flush the Tramadol immediately.

She was more concerned about the amount of Tramadol I was taking so she is putting me on a very low dose of the Oxy to see how low of a dose I can ween off of. Plus I had slid back into the Oxy. I have been completely honest with her and I trust her.

You went back on the Oxy?  But you already detoxed???? Geezz buddy I feel so bad because everyone told you to listen to your doctor and you did but putting you back on after you detoxed is a bit extreme. You were having recent trouble coming off of the Tramadol...did she help with that? She sounds like she is trying with you but knows NOTHING about addiction. That's a shame for you. I hope you will continue those meetings and work on yourself. I wish you all the best and hope you come through the other side real soon.

Thanks hun.  I am hanging in, struggling but I keep trying.  I took 2 pills yesterday and of course regret it but I am going to try again.  It's so hard when you know a couple will give you relief from everything but then here you are back with all the same problems and now have the guilt and more withdrawals to go with it.  I keep prolonging the agony and actually admire you for having a plan and really checking into everything possible.

It sounds like you are taking care of everything this time and you know what you are doing.
Cold turkey isn't for everyone.  There is so much to deal with after the withdrawals that we are not prepared for and it is very easy to relapse as we both know.
Keep posting and letting us know how you are doing.  You have lots of friends here.
