What I forgot to ask Suboxone Dr.

Went to sub dr. today. Good news - he says with my insurance subs will be $50 a month. I have to pick a day for induction. He says the longer I go without methadone before "induction day" the easier it will be. My question (that I forgot to ask him) is can I take anything like Valium or nausea pills those 3-4 days while I'm going without methadone before my induction? Or will this make me sicker on induction day?

With the plan you posted above you have at least a week till induction so that gives you time to put a call in to the sub Dr and ask him what him what you can do to make those four days more bareable. With the long half-life of methadone some of the bad feelings you will have in those 4 days will be mental with your brain trying to talk you into taking more.

Hi there---call the doctor and ask. You are paying them to work for you. It happens all the time. Don't be afraid to call. That's a good question! I wish you all the best and great success with your getting clean----

I was planning on lowering my dose to 20mg for one week then jumping completely off the methadone for 3-4 days before going to the "induction".
I thought this was what he wanted me to do. But those 3-4 days I'm suffering at home with no methadone in me, can I take Valium or nausea meds  to make the 3-4 days bareable?
