What is the longest withdrawals you have had or read about?

Are there any other cases of protracted withdrawals from Hydros (150mg a day)?  Although I am at a month, I still have several symptoms.  I know I have posted about this, but need some support!

I still have the sneezing, lethargy  (getting better tho), dizziness, and of course the distention in my lower abdomen.
Still dealing with spasms in my lower and upper back..

Jeez am I just a train wreck?  Maybe i just have problems!!!????

I am doing fine off of my DOC.  I am not really craving that much, etc.. but I want to get completely back to normal...

Maybe I am just impatient...

I am so glad that i have found this site. This is the only thing that has really been some comfort to me and made sense of this whole process.
I to was addicted to hydro taking about 8-12 a day along with my daily anti depresents and lorazapam to sleep. along with anything else that could numb me. usually 3-4 glasses of wine at night with my hydro. maybe i would add some nightquil. who knows. if needed, i had ultram.
Its been about 4 wks since i had any hydro or lorazapam.I did have a few drinks about 4 days ago but i am going to quit drinking all together to.My body still feels a wreck. some parts of the day may be good and then my lower & middle back start aching so bad. my stomach fels like iv'e been punch in the gut.I completely agree with the sneezing. My ears have been really sensitive to. so I went to see a doc on call who thought I had a sinus infection. But Iv'e been on meds and it doesn't seem any different. At what point do you say to yourself ..is this part of withdrawls still, or am i going crazy, better yet maybe i have tumors growing all over my body and i just dont know it. Oh I forgot to mention the headaches. is it normal to still have these irritating headaches? And when i sleep at night, it seems like my body will jerk like its on some electic shock thing about every 5 sec.
Thanks for your help.

I think when it comes to many things , especially lack of energy our perception of "normal" is distorted. Look at all the energy drinks and even caffiene pills that "normal" people use. I also think that "normal" people have aches and pains. I think alot of it is acceptance of life on lifes terms.

Yes, it does take a lot of time for some of us long term heavy users. I'm 10 weeks clean, and the energy isn't back yet, nor the sleep patterns. But it is improving, a little at a time. I think the energy thing is that we relate to how we were on the painkillers. I don't believe we, or anybody else, will have the energy that we did when using. It does get better. I was a full 3 weeks before I could actually feel like I was pulling up. So it's not unusual. I think folks give out the 4 to 5 days  story just to get people started. But, nothing wrong with what works.

Ya I think the opiates suppress the cough reflex and maybe suppresses hystamine as well?  I doubt that is spelled right.

i think we sneeze so much because the pain pills have something in them that helps with colds like an antihistamine (sp??). if you have a stuffy nose and take a pain pill (if you are not an addict like us) your symptoms will improve. so that is my take on sneezing! hope this helps

I don't know, but have always wondered why it happens too. Thank goodness it doesn't last too long. If no one answers you, try a new post. It would be good to know.

Whatever exercise you can do will help. Be sure to be taking lots of vitamins, minerals, aminos. I believe it is crucial to a good recovery. Energy takes time as does mood. You didn't get into this mess overnight. You won't get back out of it overnight either. For many it is 3-6 months before normal is somewhat there.

i still sneeze(never did understand that one!!!) and my energy level is not where i would like it to be and have been clean for a little over 2 months.  I think about the abuse my poor internal organs went thru for so many years so i have just figured it is a short time out of my life to get everything back to normal. Hang in there!!!!    sara
