What is the right dosage of Suboxone for my situation.

I have been a member of the site since last October, and left it for a while when I moved. When I was here before I went CT off of around 100 milligrams a day of Percocet. It took me 17 days to feel normal, at least semi. I as many got addicted because of an injury. 1 year at 40 milligrams of Lortab a day. Then 1and a half years of the percocet use, the last four months being at the 100 milligram use, when before it was around 40 milligrams. After I CTd the percocet they put me on tramadol and I told them i wouldnt take it. So I was clean until about February of this year and have been back on Percocet and Hydrocodone. On average 30 to 40 of percocet and 20 to 30 of Hydrocodone daily. Milligrams that is. I faithfullly read all the posts here and know a lot of you from before. Last night I was reading the post about the Woman taking Suboxone her way, and the replies that all were giving. I have 7--8milligram doses of Suboxone. I of course am going to do the very short term detox with it, and I would like some input on the dosages I should use, even though I have a fairly good Idea. So I have a total of 56 milligrams of the Suboxone, and I definitely have some aftercare I am going to be doing.  I respect any and all of your opinions, as I do value them. I used to work on a horse farm.                                             Zeuss

Thanks so much.  Yes, less is better and I am going to try and do 1 miiligram at a time, twice a day for ten days max. And after a few days if I can go to 1/2 milligram, then so much the better. I just want to minimize the WDS, and eventually there will be enough of us with success stories as the few that are going on now and have been that everyone here might have created our own Sub Wd program.    Thanks   Zeuss

Keep in mind that sub is a lot stronger at lower doses than high.  Its not that at 32mgs it is more antagonistic, but it has a ceiling effect, and the antagonistic properties are no more at 32mgs than at 1,000mgs.

I would try 1mg and see how that goes.  It will not make your detox painless, but will make it much more bearable.  Since you are using sub as a detox tool, you dont have to worry about it "Holding" you, just taking the edge off.

Best of luck man, and the lower dose, the easier this mess will be.

some even go as low as 1mg daily or twice a day if needed...i posted a chart for comparisons of doses in my journal....a doctor's supervision is best but it does seem that they go for the really high doses verses small in most cases...from what i read on here people seem to get dosed too high...1-2 mg daily or twice daily may hold u that dose....the lowest dose for the shortest time is best with sub

Thank you for your comments. I think Avik7 has a positive attitude about the way she did her suboxone and that is what I am looking at. I would think christos that even 8 milligrams might be too much for the dosage i am taking. I am going to try 2 milligrams in the morning and 2 at night, and if that is too much then I will go down to 1 milligram. No possible way would I even think of 16 or 32 milligrams. Im hoping Avik7 that my situation turns out like yours. Then I could be that 2 in a million.     Zeuss

once you are in moderate withdrawals I would start off at 4 mgs per day. If needed move up to 8 mgs but def, start seeign a doctor for it because it wont work getting it from a friend or illegitimetely. aftercare treatment is huge i cannot stress that enough, but if neccessary you can safely go up to 32 mgs, after that the antagonist effects of biprenorphine(sub) start to come out and act more like a anti-opiate, actually bringing out withdrawals instead of getting rid of them.

well i dont know if this will help but i started lortab at the age of 14 for back issues and i am now 23. i got some suboxone from a friend and started to abuse that. so i ended up getting 2 more pills and 1/4ing thm up. and taking a 1/4 a day. now before that i was taking 2-3 a day. sometimes more. which was a dumb thing to do..for me anyway. well the 1/4 pills lasted me 8 days and now im 8 days clean and feeling great! hope i helped
