help with withdrawals

Last three yrs i have slowly watched my son decline due to use of oxy's.  He has a very addictive personality not only for drugs.  There are times when he is motivated to quit and i would like to help him through without the use of of other meds especially the anti-anxiety as he gets quite violent on these.  What kind of natural methods of pain meds like ibuprofen can i give him to help with the pain.  Last question, how long will the physical symptoms typically last, and what can i expect.  Any suggestions to ease his withdrawal or any way i can help him through this would be appreciated.

i would advice you to read the thomas recipe and the amino acid protocol on the health pages ( right side of the screen ) ... you will find there advices to help him with wds. Ibuprofen works well for the pain and if he is not taking any anti anxiety meds, i took valerian root . Can you tell himm to join the forum ? he could find here support at this time, he doesn't need to isolate himself during detox... But most of all, encoura<ge him to find some kind of aftercare, getting clean is not hard, staying clean is. We need some tools to deal with life and our  addict behaviour. It will also be a good idea if you read posts from the people going through wds and learning from their experience. Most of the physical symptons last for 7/10 days, being the 3/4 the worst, expect a bad flu. It is doable and i wish you both all the best ! :) Post your questions and we will try helping you, ok ?

hi and welcome , its great you want to help your son, i only hope that he himself has the motivation to get off them, how long has he been taking them? and how many does he take? is he taking anything else and is he planning on doing it cold turkey, you will get a lot of help on here, just let us know these things ,so we can advise you properly, god bless
