I take methadone for pain and it has been giving me some pretty vivid dreams lately as well.

Hi tkt2lmt - welcome to the forum. Vivid dreams during and after detox are very common. I have been clean going on 8 months and I still have some crazy dreams - had a few last night. I have always been a fairly vivid dreamer and tend to remember more than most, but this can also be a good thing. I am working with a therapist who also specializes in dream therapy. The theory is that dreams are your sub conscious trying to work out "issues" that you need to deal with in daily life. With addiction, there are many demons - most addicts run from their addiction for years, but eventually it catches up to you and it can be a daunting experience. If I had to interpret your dream - unless you have been watching some crazy movies or playing some harsh video games that could influence your dream, I would say that it is directly related to you dealing with your addiction. Next time you have a dream like this, write it down when you wake up and go through it - you will be amazed at what you can learn. All the best to you with your detox and taper program - congrats on quitting. Post often - there are lots of great people on here who can help and support you.
The dreams are pretty common and can be very disturbing. I used to have really bizarre ones too. Try and put them out of your mind as they are just dreams. Get busy and keep your mind busy........sara
I've been taking the methadone for a week, the doctor is weaning me off the perc's with the methadone.I'll be off the methadone in about 3 weeks, Im just doing what the doc told me to do. I can't afford to go to a rehab center, so doc is kinda doing the methadone maintenance thing with me. I ain't a particularly weak minded person, but the dream thing wigged me out......I guess im just being a little *****, i'll shut up now.....
It probably the methadone how long until you stop taking that because the wd off of that is many many times worse the precs
Never heard of using methadone for coming off a percocet habit. The methadone wds will be just as hard if not harder than percs. Not a good idea. How many mgs of percs were you taking?
