Five seconds? You're a machine Addicted2long! When my drive returned I wasn't even a two pump chump. If I recall I don't even think there was a single pump!
dMac...Great to hear you're coming along so well. Keep up the good fight and never let your guard down. All it takes is one pill to land us right back where we started. Down the road we tend to forget how bad the withdrawals were and say, "I can take one". Next thing you know that one goes to two, then three, etc. It can happen in a flash. That's why aftercare is so important.
I'm not sure if you saw my reply to your other thread but I mentioned the VA for health care. They have many resources for addiction and substance abuse. If you hit up some NA meetings there you will meet some people that can relate not only to your addiction but also other aspects of life, war, etc. Even if you don't go for that you really need to get into the VA health care system if you aren't already. They have other resources besides substance abuse. It's also nice to have backup health care just in case you lose your insurance. I use the VA all the time and just let them bill my insurance. Even if you don't have insurance it's still completely free except for scripts. Scripts are $8 a months but can be less depending on your income or disability rating.
Keep hanging in there. You're doing great!

Haahaha oh man you made me laugh I remember at rehab talking with a bunch or recovering opiate addicts about the sex drive thing and how everyone knocked twice before walking in on there roomatws becuz ya they don't call me two stroke Joe for nothing! Lol doesn't take all of 5 seconds
LMAO about standing at attention..You are Marine after all. I know what you mean though....Everything comes back to life.
Hey DMac...
Congratulations on 14 days! You've come a long way...Good for you. You got good advice above (I stopped the whey protein for a couple of days and the leg weakness came back-so it really works) Exercise has been the single most important thing i've done for my body and brain since detoxing 36 days ago...I started small and now I'm hiking and doing yoga twice a day...It really helps with..EVERYTHING..especially fatigue and anxiety. It really brings my energy up when I haven't had much sleep. Also-I don't know if you're taking vitamins but I've been dosing B6, B12, C, potassium and magnesium since the beginning and they've really helped.
Keep on going...Awesome job...Lu
HI you guys should try whey protein mix its only 15 buck for a 2lb can at walmart the chocolate flavor is good you just mix it with milk the reason I recamend this one over the others is for 1 there are walmats everywhere and its cheep it also has the amino acids as well as extra vitamins with the raw protein all of witch the brain needs to heal this is not a quick cure the is not one but it is the building blocks back to good mental health this and aftercare will get you out of the whole you dug yourselfs into it worked for me good luck and God bless......Gnarly
dMac:
14 days...That's great. I'm on day 9, and look forward to the two week mark. Anyway, I know that you've been reading all the great recovery suggestions on the site, but I wanted to suggest that you use Ensure for Muscle Health (or something like that). You probably already know about this stuff, I got the idea from another abuser, but it seems to really have helped my leg weakness. I drank two a day for as long as it took. Just a thought...Wonderful job - you are an inspiration.
