Hello Scruffs and welcome to the forum.. I'm very sorry for the worry and pain you must be feeling right now.. Gnarly gave you some good advice with alanon it is a free service and one made up of family members of addicts.. you would gain much support and learn of ways you may be unintentionally contributing to her addiction.. You must still be grieving for your sister and mom with your daughter doing this it does not leave a lot of time for yourself and healing.. if you have insurance you may speak with a grief councilor as it will help you.and fill what I'm sure is a depleted store of strength. Your daughter is very aware of the physical problems she has.. and I can imagine she uses this as a excuse in the continued use of her drugs. Heroin is a hard one to deal with especially when you mix in speed users.. getting her into a long term rehab with medical supervision would be ideal but the decision must come from her.. I take it you provide medical ? as she is under the care of a Dr. ? The reason I ask this is you might speak with her Dr, if she is unable to follow medical protocol they may be able to have her committed as she is unfit to care for herself. just a though. but more importantly start looking for support for yourself as moms have a way of getting lost in the process... Prayers are being sent that your daughter has a moment of clarity and chooses life... warmly lesa

HI.....I so hate reading posts like this one...I went threw it with my daughter also she took to living on the streets at the age of 13 as a methamphetamine/crack addict..I know all to well the hollowed out face with the dark rings under the eyes look...we did everything humanly possible from out patecet rehabs to in pashent and until she was ready to stop nothing worked...my daughter spent more time living on the street or in jail then she did at home
it was a sad sad time for our family...I wish I had a fairy tail ending but it took a near fatal auto accedent to wake my daughter up she was 16 the court locked her up till she was 18
wile in jail she found recovery and today she is clean and sober and going on 22...about all you can do is pray for a change of heart....until she wants to get clean theirs nothing you can do...I know first hand how destructive this can be to a family you should reach out for support alanon has meetings for family members going threw stuff like this both my wife and I both went..you will find it helpful...never give up trying we dident it your kid you got to keep reaching out sooner or later she will reach back but only when she is ready....right now you need to take care of you...it is very stressful have a child traped in addiction I wish I had more for you but prayer seam to be all you really can do and im living proof that God can change a heart good luck to you and God bless.....Gnarly
