methadone to suboxone-how many days until completely flushed of methadone?

Can I quit taking my 70mg methadone dose tapered down from a 105mg. dose, and then switch to suboxone in a few days? Or will this put me into severe withdrawl. I guess my question is how long does it take for that methadone to get out of my system completely if I quit cold turkey from the 70 mgs. I was doing the 105mg dose for about a year and a half? Also, when using suboxone after a heroin dose, I'm the type of person that would go into severe withdrwal if the H was still in my system. I had t wait at least the 12hrs. So.....

Look up COWS scale it will explain induction. Also look at the suboxone/subutex FAQs at the bottom of this page, I found it very helpful.

HI first off you need a doctor to do this .....your dose of methadone needs to be around 20mg to do the switch if you dont want to wait several days in withdrawals for the methadone to dissipate from your system ....best bet is to taper down and do it right and dont try this alone get a doctor on board good luck and God bless........Gnarly

Hi-   We can't really answer that for you. It's still a very high dose of methadone and there's a particular formula for making the transfer from one to the other. It can be tricky.

I'm surprised your doctor hasn't advised you about all of this...
