I would like to know if you can still use drugs while on soboxone if you are not taking the proper dosage ? say like you take a quarter of the pill just to snowball the people around you trying to help...

I wasn't trying to be nasty by that comment! I was being somewhat facetious because I remember my loved ones trying to outsmart me and make me take suboxone when I knew,  AND they knew for that matter, that I was taking other opiates and wouldn't admit it...Tough love was the way it worked for me;)

I take suboxone and I know for a fact that even a small piece of an 8mg pill will block any other opiate...Now, there may be exceptions based on how long the person is taking suboxone, but I remember three years ago taking suboxone one day, then trying to take herion and NOTHING happened...and, if you suspect she is taking heroin, make her take a suboxone;) It will put the user into rapid withdrawal if, say, your daughter has been taking heroin long enough to obtain a habit (from the heroin)...If she then takes suboxone, which has an opioid blocker in it,' she will rapidly detox and feel poopy!

Many people have posted they use sub to stave off wd till they can again score Heroin or other drugs they are on. it has become very valuable on the streets. It is hard to miss when someone is High on Heroin so I would venture to say you are probably correct. I'm very sorry you are having to ask these questions. but keep pushing till you get your answers. lesa

I was on suboxone for 6 months giving it a try and while on it I started out on 3x 8mg  then i did a taper for next 6 months amd i was doing well and not doing any other thing untill i was down to 8mg and I tried an 40mg oc and let me tell you i felt nothing from it after 30mins i was in full blown withdraw and stayed wrapped around toilet for rest evening and woke up next morning there needless to say that was last time i tried that. It blocks any pain medicine but don't block coke pot crack stuff like that

thank you for the comment I do suspect that she is using something.do you think her doctor will take her off treatment to know this info?she was really out of it yesterday not like you would expect crack to cause but more like heroin,so how long would she have to go without the suboxone to get the effect of the heroin and would the effects be less because of suboxone use?i know you said she wouldn't high from the heroin but if shes not taking it as presribed

Yes its possible though she wont feel too high from it.  Ive head various stories from people, but my knowledge is that you can take drugs while on suboxone - you just wont get any high from them.. it would be pointless to use heroine on suboxone because the suboxone blocks the high.. many people Overdose this way as they keep taking more and more trying to achieve the high that the sub is blocking..

However crack is a different animal all together and I imagine suboxone has zero effect on crack.  If she is an addict and you suspect she is using, then she probably is.  Best of luck

step daughter is a heroine addict.been on suboxone for about three months now and I know she has slipped and used crack at least once since on it I'm trying to figure out if she is possibly snow balling me further any comments appreciated thank you....
