anyone ever been prescribed tapentadol?

I have taken Vicodin for severe back pain and surgeries, now my doctor wants me to try tapentadol. She said it was a newer drug for moderate to sever back pain. I am so nervous considering the lack of knowledge of this medicine. I am okay with hydrocodone or percocet (spelling?) please help, i am freaking in pain

Hi~  The drug has been out for about a year. It's a narcotic,similar to morphine,and stronger than Vicodin.  She probably feels this will control your pain better.

I have never taken it but know of a few folks who have used it for post op pain.
