ativan ?

I will make sure to do some research also but I wanted to know if ativan can help with coming off pain meds. I was prescribed this for several months a while ago but canceled it because I was talking it and nervous to take it. I did taken it a few times for anxiaty. Literally only a few. I don't even remember the last time i had one. And only twice the first time I tried to come off the norco before joining this site.   Is it addictive? Can it help if not abused. It's not my doc and I don't have an interest in making it one.

What I learned about benzo like Ativan is I was borrowing calm from my future and in order to quit I had to pay all that calm back. It's pretty tough stuff to get off of. (I had a script for Xanax for a minute) Even for a short duration I found I would get anxiety when coming off of it. Penny, if you've done a good taper you're going to be all right when you stop your pain pills. Sure, you'll have discomfort for a few, but you'll get it over with and then you'll be free. If you take Ativan, you'll have to deal with that next. My vote: get your freedom now.

I have looked up meetings. And my source is my Dr. But I have not put anything in place yet.

Penny..If you are still tapering I would stay away from this med. When you get down to  nothing then ask the Dr for some Clonidine. This med is a light BP med that they use alto in the detox stage. It will help you sleep and calm you down..Talk to your Dr about the meds they are using now days for short term. This is a Benzo and can be very addicting and I will tell you that YOU do not want to w/d from this one!
Just make sure YOU are drinking LOTS of water and taking lots of good vit/min right now. Make sure your Diet is very healthy too! You can build your Brain and Body up with all of this so you can rid the poisons out much better.
The younger and more Healthy you are the easy it will be on you.
Are you working on any Aftercare???
Be Safe!!
