back again....almost two years later.

Hi all, I'm on day three off tramadol, this bring about my tenth attempt. What's different this time is I tod my Dr. Now there's no chance of another script. I also told my best friend and my boyfriend. Dr gave me Gabapentin and Cymbalta. This is helping tremendously with the wd. I have taken Cymbalta before and suffered awful side effects the first couple days, but this time, no side effects at all. I'm assuming this is because the tramadol has the same ssri effects as the Cymbalta? Anyone out there dealt tithe the tramadol wd, and have taken this combination to ease through? I've been off work the last two days, going in in a couple hours which I didn't think I'd be able to manage on day one, but I think I can do it. This time round is my last time. Told my Dr no pain pills again. Ever. Congrats to all of you who are staying strong and winning this horrible battle. S

Thanks, domino! Just feels somewhat like my legs are in cement blocks. But I've been outside a few times today, had a couple Epsom salts baths and a shower. Gearing up to go to work....what pills were you dependant on, and how long have you been off?

The energy takes awhile but the more you are up and moving the quicker it comes back.  Are you taking any vitamins?

Thanks guys, hasn't been easy. Won't even pretend, but as hard as it is, keeping busy is probably best. Much as I'd love to crawl into my bed nd stay there for a week. Anyone remember when their energy levels return?

Great Job.  I have been struggling with getting off of trams and Norcs for a long time. The one thing and most important thing I did this time around was tell my doc no more scripts.  Finally making progress this time around.  I do have gabapentin and have taken it a couple times during the process and it does help take the edge off for me. I've been on it for about 6 years intermittently and will go months w/o taking any.  It is helping but minimally.  I was on wellbutrin for about 5 years and stopped that awhile back.  Definitely felt an uptick in my depressive symptoms coming off of the trams as they have antidepressant properties but those feelings seem to have leveled out.  trams are so hard to get off of so keep up the good work.
