can 5-htp make you deppressed if seratonine makes you suicidal?

have been clean of all pain meds for almost 6 months!!! with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?

Talk with your doctor and tell him what is going on with you.....sara

HI you have to watch 5-htp anytime your on any type of antidepressant or anything that messes with the seratonine in your brain it can work both with or against these drugs
talk to your doctor thats what I did they can look into side effects of combining both
you may want to google 5-htp there is lots of info out there on it but its always best to check with your prescribing doctor b/4 adding supplements like 5-htp
