Sorry as well I guess my mood is a little effed up. But remember man....ONE AND DONE!
hey there. i am on day 3 of c/t and i really dont feel that bad. for about 2 years now ive been taking 16-18 5mgs hydros sometimes up to 30 in a day! I mean i was out of control. BAD. As far as day 3 "the day of reckoning" goes not to bad for me. I woke with the worst headache in a long time (which is what kept me on hydros after the wrist healed) Its not that bad. I went with a 5 day taper which wasnt much of a taper at all. I took 6 7.5mgs then 5, 5, and then 4. then cold turkey. here i am, not feeling to bad. i mean my legs hurt and i kinda dont feel all that great in the tummy, but i have felt worse than this from not having enough hydros, or from taking to many(many nervous mornings thinking of apap o/d.) The point is STOP! PERIOD. DO NOT CROSS ADDICT TO SUB OR METHADONE. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THAT ENDS WITH ntin, one, done....i.e. oxyco-ntin, subox-one, hydroco-done. see the last two, take a second.. one and done. thats how it goes forever. stop and stay away. food for thought...... DO NOT SAY YOU OWE THIS TO YOU...YOU OWE IT TO EVERYONE WHO HAS PUT UP WITH YOU WHEN YOU WERE OUT OF PILLS OR COMING DOWN. DO IT FOR YOU, BUT YOU OWE IT TO THEM!
God bless you and i hope you dont get methadone or sub. you can do it. i know it. if i can anyone can and this is no lie. ..........
Please listen to what everyone has told you here.........sara
Yes I agree with everyone neither sub or methadone should be used for the amount hydro you are taking ...either taper off cutting a pill down every few days or just CT you will have 5 to 7 bad days then you will be done .however with the klonopin you need to talk to your doctor so he can help you with a taper plan you have to go very slowly or you risk having fatal seizures ..BTW its very dangerous to mix methadone and klonopin you really need a doctors guidance before you end up in a far worse place then where you started.
You can do this without the methodone or sub. The physical WD's only last 5 days and you will feel better. Do not try to fight fire with fire. You will only get burned my friend. You can do it by tapering or cold turkey like I did from about 15 10/325's a day.
Stay strong and you can do this.
Good luck!

When I was in detox, a doctor there told me to NEVER get hooked on methadone. He said that its so difficult to quit and that wd's even in a detox are murder. There was one lady there on her 19th day of a scheduled 30 day stint in that hellhole detox. She said in a meeting exactly what that doctor told me. If you could've seen her misery, rocking back and forth constantly in her chair, and her descriptions of discomfort, you'd never consider this stuff. What if you try this methadone and get hooked on it too?
I've quit the vicodin you've been taking cold turkey 3-4 times. I was using about double your amount too. The wd's are awful, but in 3-5 days you're done.
3-5 days compared with 25-30 days wding from methadone? Can you imagine that? When you begin kicking the vicodin and you start feeling like crap, imagine feeling much worse for at least 3 weeks.
The suboxine thing: All I know about this stuff is that its used to detox from opiates. (I don't know about what else its for.) Anyhow, at the detox, they tell you that you can't begin the regimen until your in full wd's and sick as a dog. Another guy there decided to go with the subox. Initially he was doing better. Then he said it felt like he wasn't being "dosed" with anything and he was miserable.
I went with methadone 'cause I didn't want to wait around and get any sicker; it worked, and wds were very easy (remember, this was doctor controlled administration). HOWEVER, I've learned that it takes a number of weeks to get the methadone out of your system. Talk about feeling jacked up, I've been crazy-anxious, weak, tired, sleepless, angry, sad, you get the picture. I'm 4 weeks from detox, and I'm just starting to get out of the woods.
Don't play doctor or experiment with that other crap. It's enough to be dumping vicodin, much less than anything else. I sincerely hope you heed the other's warnings if you don't believe in mine.
Best of luck, get glued to this site where there's so much support.
Been on hydrocodone 10/325's for over a year taking up to 25 per day. Never have enough. Got them originally for shoulder surgery but have always experimented with pain mess throughout my life. I'm 27 and just had my first child. I want to get sober for him and quit taking the pills 2 days ago. Hurting pretty bad right now. Doctors don't know about this and neither does my wife. Been lying alot.... How much longer will this last and what can I do to make it easier?
I agree with bmdad. Dont go from frying pan into the fire. Getting off vics is a great idea.
Going from 4 vicodin a day to methadone or suboxone is like throwing gasoline on a fire. They are both very strong opiates and the withdrawals are a million times worse than what the withdrawals would be from vicodin. Have you tried tapering down on the vicodin? I tapered in the past and had little to no withdrawals. If you decide to go cold turkey you the withdrawal symptoms usually last around 5 days. I feel methadone and sub should only be used as a last resort after trying to detox numerous times. Just stay strong and you can get off the vicodin without swapping addictions.
Best of luck!
