detox and rehab

has anyone out there gone through detox and rehab? what was it like? did it work and did it help you? i have an opportuity to go to detox for lorazepam withdrawal, should i?

yeah i went to a rehab for a five year cyrstal meth addiction and it worked, i have never used meth again, however, it actually did not work overall because even after being there i didnt understand addiction, i thought i was addicted to "meth" but what i didnt know is i am addicted to "drugs" all drugs, always will be. I am clean but still addicted, I have only recently understood this

Are you addicted or just dependent? It will work well for addiction, but the rehab would be a waste of money for a dependency. For instance, my Mom had a Klonopin dependency. She tried to go to the same rehab I went to, but was turned away and told to see an addictionologist. He weened her down and she's never had a problem. I however was an addict, and the detox/rehab worked well for me. The induction process at the rehab should tell you whether detox or detox/rehab is warranted.
