detox from Suboxone

I am currently on Suboxone 24 mg a day. I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and the suboxe does not help with pain. I am in so much pain that I can't bare to add withdrawls to the equation. Is there. Anyway to detox fast? Even if I was admitted to Hosp for evaul is there a med that will bring me off sub without weeks of wd's?

You need to talk to your Dr and work on a taper plan. Suboxone is NOT something you want to play with. I have been off it for 69 days. I was on it for 8 months. Started on 16mg a day and each month my Dr cut me down 2mg. I jumped off on 2mg and unlike many others I didn't have any problems.I did have mild anxiety for a few hrs.  I had tried to jump off on 4mg and could NOT handle the WD's. It was far worse than the Wd's I went through when I didn't have my DOC. Just talk to your Dr and don't try to do it on your own. It will take time but in my opinion that is much better than suffering cause you tried to do it too fast. Best of luck to you

You are on a HUGE dose of Suboxone.  Don't even think about getting off of it any time soon.  You have to work with your doctor on a taper plan that will probably take many weeks if not several months.  Sub is a real bear to kick.  My husband finally made it after three tries and it was pretty ugly.  Was it prescribed for addiction or for pain management?

There are alternative meds, specifically for RA, but I am sure that has been addressed before?
Narcotics were not intended for long term use
But I have not heard of an easy, fast way off of sub.  Nor any addiction to a substance
I do wish u luck
What other methods of pain control do you use other than sub?

Look, you are taking Suboxone for pain.
Doctors made HUGE mistake in your case. They should first determine-does suboxone relives you from pain at first day of usage.Reasons are very disturbing but I will be honest:
Only and the most disturbing reason is: Suboxone has Naloxon substance in it,so any another pain medication cannot be prescribed you at the moment because taking it would cost very bad opiate based withdrawal symptoms and may cause some decrease in your current decease. So,that's an cardinal and very stupid from them to prescribe you Suboxone at this moment! They should try,if they are already experimenting with you with some "less addictive" pain killers ,with pure Buprenophine such as "Subutex" or just "Buprenophine" which is key substance in "Suboxone".The very bad thing, and DANGEROUS thing is that "Naloxon" which is added to "Suboxone" (in compare with "Subutex") which make person addcited to "Suboxone" and making it ONLY med for pain (in that case) , because (as i mentioned), "naloxon" is opiate ANTAGONIST and you cannot take now (without first detox or tapper of to at least 0.2mg) opiate like Methadone WHICH IS BEST by my seeing of stuff in your case.
Or,if you have had an option, which i believe exist in your country, taking pure morphine like "MST Continuous" tablets (pure morphine) with slow release.Morphine is addictive, yes, but you would be able to maintain for whole life on it,with NO HARMFUL effects on your body.NO HARM EFFECTS AT ALL!!!! That is pure morphine, and it doesn't have any, any, any know harm effects not even little bit on liver(like methadone in like taking it for more than 10yrs).
So,ask now those "smart" doctors, to change your therapy to "chronic pain" and if it's like that to put you on some "life time therapy" (which is THE BEST in your case),with pure morphine or something like that. I recommend that ,and medicine called "MST Continuous" in right dosage.

Best wishes!!!

Well the question is why you are on suboxone in the first place. Are you working with a sponsor or are planning to come of opiates entirley? My question is if you are in so much pain from your Rheumatoid Artthritis, perhaps there is an alternative to manage your pain that you should be on, because with RA, even if your through detoxing the pain symtpoms will still be there and you may need to take medication. I am wondering if it might be best to go into a hospital where they could wean you off mildly and treat the symtpoms of you pain, and also work with you to come of with a long term pain management plan, like setting you up with an outpatient doctor for h=when you leave the hospital. Unfortunately with Detoxing most people want to do it faster thinking it would be best to get it over with. But just know the faster you do it, the more pain and the more severe of symtoms you will experience, which you masy regret. My suggestion would be to check into a hospital where they can make you more comfortable and give you further assistance to your medical needs

Hi,

I am sorry you are going through all of this. I don't know of any drug that speed up the withdrawal process. Your best bet is to work with your prescribing doctor and have him/her set up a taper plan. They can give you medication to make you feel a bit more comfortable but the withdrawal is inevitable.

Hang in there. We are here to support you and can recommend some home remedies to try and make you comfortable.
