clonidine will produce high blood pressure if suddenly stopped after a few days.... thats probably what your feeling... when i used clonodine i tapered it down. its not addictive or anything but there is rebound hyertension? not sure if thats the right word. but either way pretty sure that is probably what it is! ive never had problems with clonidine but i have always tapered it after about day 6.... been through this whole thing waaaay to many times... after about 6 days it will just drain your energy.. give it a day or two and the bp and sweats should subside hopefully... some when they wd have sweats for a while.... hope this helps!
Hang tight hotncove. Odd that you mentioned Clonidine. I was given that during my first detox and I had the sweats and rapid pulse during my detox. This time around I did NOT use the Clonidine and I did not have those symptoms. I still had all the other WD's but not the sweats and rapid heart. The only think I take (and very rarely at that) is a 1/2 a xanax or a valium during the heavy anxiety. But I hold off as long as possible for the 1/2 a pill. I am on day 18 now and I am just getting clear of my withdrawals so know that you are very close. I am fearful of the clonidine, but that is not my call and needs to be addressed by your doctor. Some others here might have had the same experience.
From what I have been told, it is normal but should be watched. I am on day 15 and I am still dealing with a rapid pulse and elevated blood pressure. I'm on diovan hci for high blood pressure so I don't think I could take anything else. I am taking easy when I can using long walks for exercise. I have found that going to my doctor with information I have pulled from the Internet or books is also helpful. They are people too and sometimes it is easy for them to put you in a line with "everybody". My doctor has appreciated my research and eliminates the nonsense without making me feel ignorant. I went undiagnosed with hyperthyroiditus while seeing other doctors when my primary care doc went out on medical leave. I learned that lesson the hard way. Now after having the same doctor for 12 years, I had to "interview" doctors and found one that shares an office with my endocrinologist. Sorry for the rant, I hope this helps
Hang in there Hotncove. Everyone is different. I recently detoxes off tramadol and Valium and my pulse was high for nearly a month. My doctor put me on clonidne and it helped calm me down. You should be about through this. Give yourself another week and most of the symptoms should start to subside. Try getting some exercise and drinking plenty of fluids, it will help.
