I would highly suggest talking to that group, my wife has fibro/cfs, and her dr put her on adderall, lyrica, and hydros, it made her a mess, she ended up od'ing, she recovered, but the wounds are still there with our family. unfortunately fibro seems to be one of those conditions dr's have yet to fully understand, lyrica itself is highly addictive, be careful
You guessed it right. After time our bodies build up a tolerance to it and it will no longer help like it use to at the prescribed dose. That is usually what lands most of us in to dependency or addiction as we self medicate by upping our dose on our own. Please be careful so you never do this.
There is a pain management forum here on med help that may be able to help you a bit more than the substance abuse forum. At the top of the page just click on "forums" and it will bring up a huge list of different forums. Someone else that is also dealing with fibro may be able to help more. There are non narcotic meds out there that may better serve your needs. Opiates are not a great choice for long term use as no matter what kind you take, you eventually build a tolerance and they will no longer work. It doesn't matter how strong they are. Have you tried the med lyrica? I think that is one used for fibro. I believe there may also be a forum for fibro so you may want to check in to that also.
Best of luck to you and I hope you can find something that helps!
