dosage of Buprenphine

doc gave me Buprenorphine 8 mgs and said take 1,  2 times a day.
Yesterday my first day I took one , I threw up and sweated I figured to Much,  this morning I tried 1/2  still feel nauseous now and threw up my coffee.
Is nauseous like this normal till I get used to it?

Micky i was by no means telling you or advising you, not to take subs more than once a day.
I was merley sharing with you my experience and how experiences differ, with no right or wrong way intended.
Anyway, i hope you understood what i was saying.

I totally concur with the others that it sounds like your dose is too high, you describe the symptoms that accompany taking too much sub for what a person needs.

Please talk to your doc about cutting back.  16mg is a very very hefty dose.  You could probably take 1/2 of that and be perfectly fine....subs are very potent.  Talk to your sub doc ASAP and see what you should do.

I agree with the above. I talk to a Addiction Dr now and then and he will prescribe 2mg..3xs a Day..Some of my friends do not take that last one at night..Also you do have to have many hours in before you take one. When I first got clean a Year & a Half ago my Methadone was still in my urine after 2 weeks. (but that is Methadone) Do not know if he gave you time to rid some of the poisons, but it sounds like it was precipitated w/ds. I would tell the DR for sure.

All sub users in the program i did, were only aloud to start their first dose being 8mg and then after a few days were aloud to go up or stay at 8mg if they were stable.

I agree! My last doc had me take 1/4 of one 8mg and waited 15 minutes then checked my vitals till I wasn't in w/d. Everyones different! And if u had methadone or other pills in your system you should've waited at least 36 hrs till u dosed on suboxone! It can put u straight into withdrawl! But listen stay on a very low dose and get off of them in a couple weeks! You can get hooked to them too!

No, you shouldn't be vomiting, and if you are you're taking too much IMO.

He should have inducted you incrementally in his office and taken your vitals while they watched how you did. If he just turned you loose and let you dose yourself, I'd look for another doctor, if it was me.

How much of what are you coming off of? Subs are pretty strong, nausea and headaches are common with too much sub. Less is more with sub. I was supposed to take 16mgs a day, but that was way too much. Have you asked your doc?
