But i need to vent, Why are husbands idiots??  ( no offense to all lol) When u tell them to hold them, because u will take to many...DUH!!!  What part of that is confusing?
Mine left them on the bed side table, i was like u hold them ( said this 3 times )..Then he said i don't want to ride with them in my truck...ok i understand that, but who said truck, right  now i am thinking up your A$$...ok i am sorry, he is a good man, i am the addict......
Anyway,
happy 4th to everyone, and thanks for everything...

hey Im sorry Im so late respondig to this whole ordeal youve been going through. I hardly read the regular side anymore, just the social one.  But anyhow Im glad your surgery is over with and im also glad  you did fill your RX. Sounds weird to say that, but you should not have to suffer in such pain no matter what. Your husband is doling them out so dont worry too much. Also since you have been off them for such a long time, they may actually make you puke now. that happened to me more than once, my tolerance was gone and the regular dose was too strong and made me throw up and feel like ****. Anyhow I hope you heal fast , feel better and get right back to normal clean life again. xo xo xo xo

Thanks everyone for your support, means sooo much to me...hubby went and filled the meds, He is holding on to them...I took one half and no releif then took the other half...Much better now, and heating pad is helping so much (thanks avis)...I know i can't do this without ya'll and him holding them...Just the scipt was playing with my mind, so i know i can not have those pills in my hand.....I don't have any appieite, and still nauseated, when i take the phenagan it knocks me out, but i guess rest is good, and may heal quicker....
jeanette--thanks, for sharing, i had the laproscopic one, incisions are small but very tender...
So i guess this is my test...Please pray for me , I know i can't do this alone...

I am glad to hear you are home and the bad stuff is out!!!  Dont suffer thru the pain as your body wont heal as fast.  Give the pills to your hubby and let him dole them out.  Wishing you a speedy recovery.                 sara

Hey  girlie,  so very happy you are home.   Did you have the major surgery  (the butterfly cut from end to end?)  or laproscopic.   If you had the major,  those muscles are going to hurt until they reconnect,  and that takes time   and moving as much as possible will allow you to heal faster, ( and yes I hated that part too!!).  If it was lapro,  the antibiotics should be kicking in real soon which will also provide great releif from the infection that is causing pain.           When my appendix burst (and yes I was on a morphine drip while in the hospital  for 5 days  due to parantitis)  I was off pain meds post hospital release by the 2nd day.   You have to keep in mind  your body has gone thru an ordeal that will take time to heal.   I doubt there is any pill I could have taken to feel  semi-normal!  Time truly is the greatest healer for surgery!!  Not a magic answer  but every day gets so much better!!!    Take good care of yourself  and please let others take care of you now, so you can heal!!

With Love,  Jeanette

please don't sit there and suffer..you were cut open for crying out loud!! it stands to reason that you would hurt....hopefully you really won't need them for longer than a week..I have noticed that when I was in alot of pain the pain meds (before I abused them) that they did work and I was in so much pain I didn't think about the high...it's good that you can give them to your hubby..you can do this..you have been doing it for how long?? 9 months?

thanks so much for sharing that.....Do u think that when we are in pain , they just work and don't make u high??  or give you that energy?  What i don't want is to feel that energy again, because that was my reason for abusing them...Started with legit pain , but ended like some.....Man my hubby is a softy, but i have to do it, advil is not working...thanks so much

When I had my diverticulitis episode I went to the hospital twice in a 2 week period. The first time I refused pain meds. The second time the pain was so bad that my vitals were all so high, pulse was 130,they insisted on giving me something, and at that point I was in so much pain I wasn't going to argue. They gave me the dilauidid in the ER and once my vitals were within normal range they released me with a script for vicodin as well as the antibiotics.Vicodin was my DOC,talk about scared,I was shaking in my boots about getting it filled so I didn't at first, but on the second day the pain was so bad I had my husband fill them.My son kept them locked up and he was responsible for dosing me with them.I didn't trust my husband anymore then I did myself,he always gave into me before. My son I knew would be like a jail warden with them and that was reassuring to me.I only took 5 of them for the next 2 days once the antibiotics started working the OTC meds gave me all the relief I needed.I insisted that my son allow me to flush the remainder,of course he stood watch. It didn't make me start craving them again.I actually didn't feel the same feeling when I took them,I just felt relief from the pain.Don't allow yourself to suffer. You have your plan in place, have your husband hold them, only take them as perscribed, and only until the OTC medicine makes you comfortable enough to deal with the pain, then flush the rest.Trust yourself, you can do this.Praying for you.Peace.

how long have you been drug free?  maybe you can call the dr and get a different type of pain med, one that your body won't immediately latch onto.

Thanks so much for everyone's prayers...and messages..Funny how i could not wait to get home and get to the forum....Here is the thing...My pain is pretty bad, not severe, but advil is not cutting it...I asked him not to give me lortabs, so he gives me lorcets instead...omg same darn thing..  I kept looking at the script like it was a million dollars...HATE being an addict..  while in the hospital i was soooo sick, threw up and sleep, threw up and slept...Then they would give me phenegan and it would knock me out.....Any advice please??  I now know that being an addict does not mean you have to suffer...it was misery..
thanks so much , u guys are the best!!

Maybe you could pass it along to R2R that once you have your gallbladder removed you should be taking digestive enzyemes every time you eat. My brother who is a horticulturist has treated many people for this in the past. Apparently the gallbladder is not an unnecesary organ after all. I think it has something to do with bile?
