I need info!!

As most know my daughter is 23 and an opiate addict. Her drug of choice is perks. Her route is IV. She is unwilling to quit or go into rehab. So my hands are tied till she is ready.
She also is showing signs of liver failure, jaundice, sickness blahblahblha, Still waiting on the hep c test result.
Anyhow I have heard today that she is also shooting Coke! I know it is dangerous, but what is going on, herion and coke. Two opposite drugs. I am wondering if she isn't trying to kill herself. Any insight would be appreciated.
I dont think she is doing both at the same time (speedballing) but I dont get it.  Thanks Love TEE

HI......I doubt she is trying to kill herself after you been on narcotics so long the dose keeps getting higher and higher to the point that your noding off right after you shoot up
the coke gives you an energy rush that circumvents the noding off so you can stay awake and enjoy your high.....its not a great idea to mix the 2 the addiction only gets worst
from what it sounds like she has hepatitis C if she looks jautis ( yellowing of the skin and eyes) is on of the sighs....I really hate that you have to go threw this with her I have been in your shoes and it is heart breaking.....I hope she becomes more open to getting help soon here especially if shes got hep C she going to need regular medical care and if its as bad as you say she might need something NOW....see if you can at least get here to go to a doctor with you.....I normally am not big on sub or methadone but you might want to check out sub doctors and approach your daughter with the idea of going on sub at this point sub could save her life and she wouldent have to face withdrawals till she is health and recovered then she can ween off the sub.....we have had a couple of good sub experiences with a couple of differnt members this might just be an avenue she will take....you got to understand most addicts fear the withdrawals more the dying from the drugs....I will keep your family in my prayers good luck and God bless,,,,,Gnarly

Hey, hang in there!  Maybe she will come around.  Sometimes we have to wait until the consequences of using are so severe that there is no way to go but up!  That happened to me in 2006!  It was horrible and sad and humiliating for me, and I knew that I was close to my bottom or worse....dead!  I pray that she wakes up before that happens to her. I am guessing that she has Hep C like you said.  Maybe that will wake her up.  Sometimes it takes a real scare to straighten an addict up!

Best of luck to you and your daughter.  I know this is hard!

Thanks for the quick replies. I figure she has hep c too and so does all her doctors. She was addicted to coke a few years back got away from it for about 5 yrs. Then came the pills, and then tonight I heard about her shooting coke. It probly is to get the better high. and mixing the two!!! And even though she thinks she is all knowing I know its a matter of time before she ODs> Its heart wrenching yet pisses me off all at the same time.
What really go my goat tonight is the fact that she is very jaundiced. sick, tired. Her liver is giving away. And when I called her tonight to see how she was feeling she was high as a kite.  Grrr. I know that addiction Is bad, but its crazy, where the mind can go.  Thanks again  Love Tee

She probably is doing both at the sam time, I did. And I would bet she has Hep C.

I doubt she is intentionally trying to kill herself, she is chasing that high that she can't get anymore. This is when it becomes dangerous because she could easily overdose.

I am so very sorry you are going through this. I know you must be heartbroken. I wish I had better news for you.

Please hang in there. I will keep you both in my prayers. I pray that she finds her way.
