Hi Angel,
This forum was an integral part. I tapered in about 3 days and it was really hard. The other incentive was my prescription was low and I wanted to stop stealing my wife's stash. She is not an abuser so she knows when her inventory gets low because she takes one pill, on average every few weeks for arthritis.

For CJ to flush 300 pills is truly an amazing feat of mental strength, esp during w/d's, hence the positive energy from this form too.

I'm new to this (2 years), but I personally would not recommend c/t unless one was taking the normal recommended dosage. Even then over a period of time the w/d's can be tough--speaking from my personal experience. But tapering slowly is hard too, sort of draws out the w/d's, the pain starts to increase. As I mentioned before, seems like everyone has different experiences. My experience is only w hydrocodone.

Bottom line, I had the incentive because as my personal bio states, I recognized my priority of needs were out of whack. This includes, work, family, friends, etc, especially me. Well except the in-laws. ;-)

best wishes

Angel,
I tapered, sort of. I cut down to 4 a day, which was half my usual dose. About 2=3 days there, then to 1-1/2 {1/2 three times a day} for a couple of days, them c/t from there. I was in withdrawals anyway, I figured, so might as well go for it. They really worst part, I believe, is actually quitting altogether. I flushed over 300 pills, thanks to the folks on this forum. One minute I love ya'll for that, the next I question your sanity for suggesting such an inconceivable act. Thanks though, really. It's the right thing to do. I can't say that I wouldn't have taken some before now, if they had been handy.

For me, I was on several hydro pills per day and I could not taper slowly. I could have, but at that time my wife just didn't understand. Plus my company needed me and my haze-brain wasn't getting the work done.

So I quickly tapered in just a few days. It was hell for me. However, had I gone c/t, hard to say if I would have made it. This is why I admire all the people in this forum that try so hard and some can go c/t even with higher doses from a longer usage.

Hope this helps.
