WOO HOO..feeling great @ 8 days clean

Good Morning to all out there in CT land...stay with it, don't give up....the pain is worth it in the end. I'm on day # 8 and I really feel like my old self again. I had forgotten who that person was. I have energy (it still doesn't last as long as I want it too), and motivation...and even more important a clear head. I really appreciate everyone on these forums...what a great help to know that I am not alone. I will now have to deal with the original pain for which I was prescribed the opiates, but Tylenol and Motrin will have to do. If I'm honest with myself, the VIC's were no longer doing much for the pain anyway. So to all either just starting CT, or thinking about it....you CAN do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starting day # 10 and still going strong. Feeling better each day and I'm actually being productive (somewhat) when I get home at night. Last night I did a lot of decorating for Christmas. All I have left to do is put up the tree, (and all the shopping of course). How's everyone else holding up?

It is very important to me to keep this a safe place for us to come where we dont have to be ashamed of our addiction anymore and to get help.  Your clean time is the best Christmas present you can give yourself.........sara

Thanks for all the encouragement...I haven't looked into any aftercare yet....honestly not sure if I will at this point. If I start to feel that pull again I will certainly do something then. I am feeling much better each day, but know that I may still have a rough time. Sleep comes and goes, not great yet, but I know that can be the last thing to come back. I was never really a great sleeper anyway so I can't expect miracles. Sara...I've read many of your posts and you are always so supportive....it's great that you stick around to help others. I remember when I found this board last spring, it was so nice to know that there were people out there just like me and that I didn't have anything to be ashamed of. What a relief that was...so thankyou to you and all of the others out there that continue to help and support. I feel like I have given myself the best Christmas present ever.

Congrats on 8 days!!!  You should be feeling better physically each day now.  Dont get discouraged if you have some bad days in here too.  That is common.  Are you getting any type of aftercare?  The mental part will kick in now.  Keep moving forward!!      sara
