My son has now been off methadone for 103 days(after two years/ high dose 90mgs). During that time he has detoxed on Suboxone tapering from 16mgs to .25mgs. He is now is off two days, on one- effectively cutting his dose to 1/12 mg a day. He had virtually no WD during his taper to .25 and has  had some mild symptoms since he started skipping days. He continues to go to work and is completely functional. He hopes to be  done by the end of July. That will complete a four month journey to freedom after 14 years of addiction. I know that when he's done he'll have just begun- but I am grateful that he has come so far. Thanks for all your positive messages on this forum- you continue to give me hope. I ask your prayers for his continued strength, fortitude and resolve. God bless you all.

wow...that is great...methadone is a horrible thing to come off of..I will thankfully have 2 yrs in a few weeks...you and your son will be in my prayers...
