Yea, suboxin is bad news, to me anyway. Take that wrong and you overdose and die. The Naloxone in it blocks the effects of opioids. However the Buprenorphine in it is an opioid in itself that is similar to other opioids. It produces less of a euphoria. The theory is the combination of the two meds in the pill is spose to give you a dose of a less euphoric opiode as well as a blocker for the opiods you are taking at the time. The problem that occurs is that because suboxin has an opiode in it, you still can have the physical wds. So while you may not have an addiction to the euphoric part of it, you are left with the physical part. I know some people don't agree with me but having had 4 back surgeries and years on all sorts of pain meds and recovered almost 6 years I always say cold turkey. It's one personal choice but I don't like to give advice to people that extends misery they don't have to be in.
I know suboxin's really help but I would not suggest anyone trying to come off a narcotic to take suboxin or subutex. I did that and now 2 years later I can't shack the habit.I know you will hurt from the narcotic's but it is a way better hurt then the suboxin thats unless you can just use them to come off and quit really fast.
Your doing all you can do right now. Time is the only healer from this addiction. I won't sugar coat it, it will be bad. It is for all of us. Your wds are normal. It will take a few days for this to subside. A week will make a big difference. Every day is a bit better. It took you 2 years to get where you are. It will take a bit of undoing. You can do it. It's obvious you want to live. I know where you are. I had 4 back surgeries and after 7 years it was nothing to eat 20 10/325 Percocets every day. Try to stay busy. I wore holes in my shoes pacing circles on the porch as I smoked cigarettes like a train but I stayed clean and sober. Keep doing what you are doing now and you will be fine.
