I have never heard of anyone either having hallucinations CAUSED by seroquel. It is most likely as result of your illness. You never say WHY you're taking the Seroquel & Lamictal.  Usually those 2 are prescribed for bipolar disorder which CAN cause hallucinations. I would go to the dr. If you are having side effects from the meds such as body contortions, this could be a sign of Tardive Dyskinesia, which can be held at bay by meds like Cogentin or Artane. And no I'm NOT a DR or nurse just someone who's  on these types of meds & have studied them a lot. Everyone should be informed about what they are taking.

I took Seroquel for two years for insomnia. Worked like a charm. I never had any problems with it. I just know it would really knock me out so I could sleep. I never heard of anyone having hallucinations from it.

that is super strange that you had hallucinations on seroquel seeing as the anti-psychotics is what they would give ppl when they were having a bad trip or trying to end the trip. Up until they realized that it didn't really help especially when benzodiazepines like valium, xanax, klonopin worked much better in aiding the trip. One important thing to remember though is that everyone reacts different to every medication so it is possible that that is the reason. Seroquel (Quetipine) is a newer atypical anti-psychotic. It is mainly used for that reason-ppl with schzophrenia or bi-polar disorder, but it is often prescribed as a sleep aid, for other mental-disorders, and many more then they originally said it would be helpful for. Most of the time when someone has hallucinations and aren't taking psychedelics or smoking pot then a mental disorder is most likely the case/problem. I would see a psychiatrist and make sure you dont have any disorders that you dont know about. Being bi-polar often causes strange hallucinations especially if medications are being used. -christos

no your hallucinations are not caused by the seroquel! your illness may have induced the hallucinations, it is very common for bipolar patients to experience these types of hallucinations
the lamectical is know to cause Abnormal Dreams, Insomnia, Hypnagogic Hallucination
call your doctor for an immediate appointment, you were not having these side effects before you introduced the lamectal, so your doctor would be the one who can work that out
also check out http://www.adawebsite.org/ learning to live with any mental illness can be tough, having peer or group therapy is know to help
the meds can be helpful, but can also send you on a roller coaster of side effects and emotional hangovers, find some peer support

Hmm....sounds like what you took was Haldol. When a doc prescribes Haldol, they always prescribe another med that goes along with it called Cogenin (I think). But taking the Haldol alone without the other pill, can cause muscles to spasm and lock in one place. I saw a guy one time take two Haldol without taking the Cogenin, and his face and arm locked up, and he looked like he had a stroke! He said he felt fine (other than that) and refused to go to the hospital. After a few hours he was fine, but dang...your right......psychiatric drugs are nothing to mess with! Leave 'em for whom they are prescribed!

I agree with the above as I has the same experience.. only I was shaving and taking more every hour.. ended up at my Dr. and could not even talk to him..  Psychiatric drugs are nothing to mess with.. one time around 13  took a pill meant for a mentally handicapped person.. it caused my neck to pull back and could not straighten it for hours.. was very weird and frighting too walk while looking at the sky... Talk to your Dr. if these are prescribed for you.. If not do not experiment as some symptoms remain permanently... lesa

I've never heard of the new drug (lamictrall??), but I know all too well what Seroquel can do to ya. Seroquel is a VERY serious drug for people with psychological issues. I used to know a girl who was a bonafied sex addict (no joke here, she had a really bad disease) who was on Seroquel. I won't go into any details, but believe me....she really was sick. Real sex addiction is nothing to laugh at. She gave me a couple of Seroquel one time and I just took one, and was as f**ked up as a person can possibly get. It gave me the worst case of the munchies I'd ever had, but I had to stagger and hold onto things to make it to the kitchen. When I started munching out, I couldn't stop! I ate everything in sight, with 1/3 of it ending up on the floor (and my shirt) because I couldn't see of walk straight! I read up on Seroquel, and found out this: If someone really needs it, it won't give them much of a buzz at all. It will just level them out, and cause a LITTLE drowsiness. If someone who doesn't need it takes it, they will get extremely messed up. Ane if they continue to take recreationally, it will eventually cause the same psychological problems that it was designed to treat. If it messes you up, then you need to tell your doc. This means that you probably don't need it. Maybe something else. And as far as hallucinating....I know nothing of that new drug, but it doesn't suprise me at all.
I firmly believe that if I had mixed it with anything else, I could have very well ben tripping too! To anyone else who just read this: DO NOT TAKE SEROQUEL RECREATIONALLY! IT'S VERY DANGEROUS! AND IF YOU TAKE IT WITHOUT A MEDICAL REASON TO, IT MAY IN TURN CREATE THE SAME DISEASES THAT IT'S DESIGNED TO TREAT!
