how to get off 400mg of tramadol

Hi i take 200mg i.e 100mg modified release tabs 2 x 100 in morn same at night and am sick of being controlled
by these is this a high dose and what do i need to do ..

Thanks for the great replies just to let you know i had no idea how bad these were ive started to taper down my dose at a 1/4 tab a day per week might take a while but that seems to be the way to do it as i cant afford to take the time needed off work just to go through withdrawals ill let you know how it goes thanks for the support .

Hello I am 8 days clean of tramadol taking 400Mg a day too. but mine where fast acting trams. Just to let you know I was taking Gabapentin becuase I stopped CT.... It helped alot I didnt realize how much as I didnt take em till alittle later today and I was starting to feel like the withdrawals all over agian I took that med because of the siezure risk involved but everyone has there own way of doing it Im just letting you know its possible. Hang tight man this drug is bad news.... and keep posting to let us know How it goes im on alot if you need to talk through the WD's just send me a massage or post . Peace be the journey!

Hi and Welcome..Because we do not know your health history nor can we give a taper plan I would suggest You talk with the Dr. We do have a lot of people on here that have experienced w/ds from Trams..They are very synthetic just like the Methadone & Subs. You should consult with your doctor since tramadol does effect serotonin. Most SSRI's take approx 2 weeks to become effective. It is also dangerous to take SSRI's with tramadol (especially high doses) because of the risk of serotonin syndrome (which could be life threatening).  So before you start an antidepressant your doctor should be aware of how much tramadol you are taking. Congrats on making the decision to take your life back!

Hi ive tried the just stopping thing but it a nightmare and i always go back to them they were originally give for back pain it all i take nothing else and now its ruling my life need to get off these .thanks very much.

Alot of people just STOP! idk about tramadol so please hang tight until someone comes along that does! Someone will pop in soon. Congrats on the decision to quit. Its the best gift you can give yourself.
