Ok, that makes sense.  How many days were you off the Roxy's before you went to your doc and he gave you Suboxone?  If you were already through the better part of withdrawal, and the Clonidine and Gabapentin were slightly helping, putting you on that much Suboxone in my opinion would be unnecessary.  I started with only a 4mg piece of Suboxone, just enough to take the withdrawal symptoms away, and I was good.  Especially when trying to get off a short acting opiate, less is more with Suboxone.  You want to take just enough to partially fill your receptors, while trying not to get your body addicted to the Sub, so there is a fine line.  I would call your doctor if you don't begin feeling better, tell them that you heard you could be taking too much, and ask if you could try lowering your dose a LOT.

ImeEvThis is my situation.Been  on roxys for several yyears,I'm single ,48 year old.female .I bartend 5 nites a week,12 hr shifts./een workng the same place for 10 yrs.Make really good $$,Never called n sick even if I ws out of meds my using never interfered w my using I would just suck it up.I'm tired of being on meds. When to my Dr.told him what was up so he put me on clonidine n gabapentin to detox.Thiis helped me w withdraws except meds was making it hard to work.A week n a half ago he put me on subs.8 waited 2 days between the roxys and sub.It did help w the withdraws but after a few days I started getting bad headaches and the sweats so today he upped my dose to 3 films per day.I would rather do a taper off roxys than sticking w the subs.Don't know how many I should decrease per day.Like I said earlier up to 7 to 8 roxy 30mg ir .

Digger makes a good point: I had the same side effects when I was taking too much.  Only after I lowered my dose did I start feeling better.  So, if I assumed incorrectly in my above post and you are ONLY taking Suboxone to get off the Roxy's, then the doctor upping your dose may not help.  But only you will be able to tell how you feel.  If you do start feeling better, then you must not have been taking enough; but if you still feel bad, maybe you're on too much!

I have just re-read your other thread to see if I could find out a few things. I must say you sound like your stuck in a rut as far as subs are concerned if you are taking them as prescribed you need to just stick with them alone and you will start to feel better, its confusing in the way you keep mentioning the Roxy's as if you are still using those to, this will make you w/d and make you feel so much worse. You mentioned that you get headaches, sweats and have no motivation, Subs did exactly the same to me especially the headaches they do subside when you start to drop down on your dosage, the sweats too. The low motivation is manageable on subs as long as you push yourself a little. Please try to give a full informative post on your dosage and why you think they don't work and why you keep mentioning Roxy's?

Wish you all the best my friend!

You say your doctor upped your Suboxone dose... AND you want to know how to taper your Roxy's???  If you are taking both of these medications, that is why "Suboxone is not working."  There is a certain amount of time that you have to wait before inducting with Suboxone, and if you take it too soon, your withdrawal symptoms will be worse!  So please give us more info and answer these people's questions.

How long have you been taking subs? And when you say they aren't working, what does that mean exactly? You still feel full out withdrawals?

You ask how you should taper off the Roxie's. You're not still taking them are you? We can't give taper schedules, as it's against the rules.
But, if your healthy, the idea of a taper is slowly reducing the amount, until your body adjusts, then reducing again and so on. Slow and steady.
But many of us can't taper, if it's there we will take it. So we cold turkey.  Some do taper and have someone else hold the pills.
But to give us more info to help you, how long have you been on the subs, and how long since last oxy?

How long have you been on sub?  What's your dose?  How much of the roxys were you taking?  You CAN taper off the roxys, but a lot of addicts cannot stay compliant with a taper.  You could also go cold turkey as long as you don't have any major health issues.

I would recommend coming off the roxys vs the subs. Subs are typically more difficult to detox from when the time comes.  There is no magic pill that takes w/d away.  You will have to deal with some degree of it, even if you taper.  A slow gradual taper can reduce the intensity of the symptoms however.

"Why isn't suboxone working for me?"

Suboxone isn't going to make you high. Is there something else you're expecting for it to do?
