good idea or not?

Is the methadone clinic a good idea if im tryin to get off of oxycontin? Im just worried about getting hooked on that as well and it will be just the same thing but i wont be spending as much money everyday on my habit!

It is a VERY bad choice..  Givin the choice between coming off oxy. and going onto methadone I would just suffer!!  Its a lot more pain once you realize that the withdraw off methadone is 5X greater than withdraw of Oxy.....

hi Roxy ....after being on methadone for 6 1/2yrs and then having to taper off it for 8 1/2mo
I wouldent recommend it to anyone...the withdrawals are the most sever out of all the narcotics and trust me it took a good 90days just to start to feel better after I was off
your best bet would be set up a taper plan with the oxy and stick to it... how much oxy are you taking??? and how do you take it whole,bit it,or snort it//??? these are all important questions if you can answer them we can try and help you out...even if you where to just jump off C/T your withdrawal would only last a week so its a much better idea then going the methadone rout ....I will look for your post tomorrow get back to us

My primary care physician is helping me taper down.  Methadone is worse to get off of.  Can u handle tappering?
