When will it end?

Hi everyone. I have been clean for 10 days now. I still feel very lost. I'm at home with my husbond and I don't feel comfortable at all. This is my home. I should feel safe and secure here, right? I feel nervouse all of the time. I also wake up very nervouse every morning. I'm going to be starting out patient treatment sometime this week. I was addicted to pain pills on and off for a year now. Is there anything that will help my anxiety. I have been taking 5-htp, b-complex, Kava Kava,Benadryl, Valerain Root and so on and so on. What else can I do? Please help!!!!!!!! I don't want to go to the doctor and get something for my anxiety because there is a chance I can get hooked on those. I have a very addicted personality. Any over the counter meds that will help.

Congrats on 10 days!!!  What you are feeling is normal and will pass.  Try getting some exercise.  Doesnt have to be alot but even walking helps.  You are doing great so keep it up!!!         sara

Sorry to hear about what you are going through.  But, with being 10 days out seems like a lifetime, you are just freshly off drugs and this is the time the mental issues kick in.  Talk to people, get out of your house if you can and go for a walk or just a drive, take hot showers and I was taking Vitamin B-12 to help with energy.  I have an addictive personality also and i applaud you for quitting, stay strong and keep on posting.  i am where you were with the meds but, have to be due to pain but, know that i have crossed over from being not only physically dependent on the meds but now i have jumped on the addict band...........til next time montanagurl
