Methadone had the complete opposite effect on me, I lost about 55 pounds, which 30 of it was needed but the other 20 was to much as now Im under weight by about 5 pounds, I want to get up to either 115 or 120, as I am fairly short, 5' 2, and its really scary as I taper more off the methadone the more I dont want to eat, but I do. But most people who are at my clinic do gain weight off methadone & the nurse told one guy the reason why is because when your using you dont eat right, I know I was one of those people, when I was using oxys I ate like a pig & turned into one, oink oink, I was a big girl! Thank god that parts over because when I was over weight I felt awful, my clothes didnt fit & when Id go shopping every thing looked great on the rack but when Id try it on it was disgusted. Wow - that's low - good stuff!!

Another good reason to get clean - no drugs messing with your metabolism and your system!
My hubby took it and yes put on bunches of pounds. I think it makes you hungry and when you arent in pain you just eat because you arent hurting and I guess like him he rested during that time watching tv trying not to move he hurt so badly so he ate. BTW he passed away of encephalopathy (enlarged liver) be sure to have your blood work up I have no clue how long you have been on it, but his doc didnt do bloodwork for several years.

Water retention - you might start to eat normally causing you to gain weight. Also, it slows the metabolism a bit.
Eat right and excersize, and you'll be fine.
