long term effects of clonazepam

i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr. my doctor told me to stop taking ambien cr but i think it is the clonazepam that is causing my confused thoughts and how should i quit

Yes, bunco is absolutely correct. With benzodiazepines, we have to taper.
If you tell your doctor you want off the Clonazepam, then he/she ought to
be smart enough to put you on a taper plan. Some doctors are woefully ignorant of benzos and how to get off of them. Not all, but some are.
If your current Dr will not taper you off, then I would suggest you find another.
The slower the taper the better. We can't give specific taper advice here, so please find a doctor who will give you  a plan. Using the taper method, you should not have much problem getting off the clons. take care.

taper....please taprer very very slowly.........these cause seisures if you do not.  I am on 4 mg per day and need to go down .5 off every 2 weeks then .5 every other day after I am down to .5!!  I stopped vicoden cold turkey!  BUT this you really should do under a doctors care,,,,,,,or atleast follow what my doc has said!

And.....they do not make me confused just a bit tired!!
