Im starting to feel better about this andstart my detox. sharing with people on here has helped tremendously and I thank youall for that. I have taken 2 pills so far and and usually at this time ive taken bout 6. Im going to set a goal and not take anymore till bed time. i always do things in mass, or want thimgs done NOW. patience is going to be a big key for me to succeed
You can always use the "flu" as a screen.. I did, as did many others. The fear of withdrawal is often worse than the actual experience..
I totally hear you on the pain thing. I have some pretty serious chronic pain issues too. Opiates actually lower our pain tolerance, make our bodies stop producing our natural pain fighting chemicals, and ultimately make us feel as if we are in more pain than we actually are. A lot of people (myself included) find that the more distance they put between themselves and the opiates, the less pain they have. That's not to say that there won't be pain. There will be, but you will be able to deal with it better and without being chained to a pain pill. There's no way to know until you try. I really think you will be pleasantly surprised by how you feel after a month off of the meds.
thanks. I know there are people in same boat or worse. I have legitimate injuries and issues and its so frustrating and im scared what will happen if im not taking them anymore and this pain is so severe, cause docs wont help.
thanks for the reply. I want off them so bad. I tear up all the time thinking about it.
Never think that you are beat! Turn that thinking around and think 'I will beat this'! Many people on here have successfully quit high doses of both of the drugs you are taking, and they did it at home. It's best to check with your doctor first to make sure you are healthy enough for detox. They can also prescribe meds for high blood pressure since during detox out BP tends to be a lot higher than normal. It's good to be 100% honest with your doctor. That's the only way they can help you. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see the Thomas Recipe. It's full of great supplements that help ease withdrawals. Please keep reading and posting on this site. There is so much information and so many great success stories. the withdrawls, if its noticeable I may lose my girlfriend cause I have promised her im not addicted. she quizzed me on why I go to e.r. a lot and I lie to her. I have traveled tosurrounding states to cities with hospital to get prescribed more, that's pretty bad. I think me acknowledging this is good but I feel the pain will overwhelm me at the end.
Could not go 12 hours without taking some*
First off you are never beat! I was taking almost the same amount as you are. I am 24 hours since my last half of a pill. I would recommend you look up the Thomas recipe. I am experiencing mild withdrawls so far which I can say is thanks to the Thomas recipe. Before this I could go 12 hours without taking some. I tapered myself down slowly but be aware most people can not do this. I just knew how bad I wanted off them so I started taking less and less. But Cold turkey is how most people have to do it. You are not alone..everybody on here will be here every step of the way!! Congrats on realizing you want off them. It helps to tell some close non judgemental sober family member or friends about your addiction. Aftercare is also a big thing. If you have any questions post them often somebody will answer!
Your not beat!! Whats holding you back from quitting?
