mdma/bath salt recovery

Depressed I started taking what I was given as mdma for a few weeks almost on a daily. I Overdosed in september and have been sober from everything ( mdma, weed, alcohol) the past 2 months s. I have been to the doctors my ekg and ecg and an mri of my brain came out normal but i still get random chest pains almost everyday.my red blood count was alittle high. My friend told me it could be bath salts since thats whats been going around as mdma. Fast foward my whole body feels dry. My eyes truble focusing, my nose, my skin peeling in certain places. I have gotten 3 nosebleeds this week. I want to believe its from the cold air but in the back of my mind i keep thinking my heart could fail me. I have gone to counseling where I have been told Ill be ok but i guess the psychological effects from it still havent worn out. Any support and advice would be greatly appreciated. Just wanted to say being sober from everything has really given me a appreciation for clean living. Thanks.

Good job james.  Ive never experienced the drugs you have taken but have struggled with addiction myself and could only imagine what you are going through due to all those bad chemicals you put your body through.  You are 2 months clean!! That in its self is a huge start.  Anxiety will do some pretty crazy stuff to your body and hopefully it is just that,  I am too a 30 year old and I feel the same way you do.  Been there done it and now I want to live my life different because your right we are getting older and its just not worth it.  Keep doing what you are doing and drink lots of water and eat a bunch of healthy stuff with antioxidents.  Take a multi vitamin as well.  What you put in your body is how your body will react and by eating healthier and excercising you will see wonders.  You got this man!

Im 30 years old . I still get anxiety because of my dry eyes and skin happening during my chest pain, thinking its a underlying problem linked together but im trying to be positive and i think i will make it out ok. Its already been 2 months im hoping the worst has come and gone. Your correct I wasnt living a healthy lifestye and Ive been trying to change. Just think im to old to be doing that now and looking foward to a different life with different hobbies. Its hard but i know im strong enough not to go into rehab or go back to those friends. Thanks for the support everyone.

so glad to hear you are feeling better. congratulations on making the decision to stop hanging out with the people who you used with.
this is  very wise. substance abuse will only get worse as time goes on.
stay away from the people, places and things associated with your use.

find positive things to do with your life. can I ask you james how old you are?

sadly some people get involved with drugs and then the addiction takes over. they can be then stuck in a cycle and the despair of addiction for decades.

don't be a stranger. there is always someone here to talk to.

Thanks guys. Doctor said not to worry about the high red blood cell count to much. Said I could donate blood, not to sure about all that.Yeah the blood tests showed my liver was ok.  Also have been needing to urinate more. The chest pain is minimal now just once in a random while Ill get it. I honestly feel better not taking anything and Iam trying to change my life to make sure I dont (stopped hanging out with certain people, started reading self help books, etc) Thanks for the support everyone.

Hi there, well done on your clean time so far, great job !!!
Ive read and watched some aweful stuff on the news lately about bath salts being sold as crystal meth and the insane unhumane stuff it is doing to people. I cant even comment on it, as it is just horrifying what i read !!!
I am so glad your not taking it anymore : )
You could well be suffering some anxiety from your drug abuse, but only your doctor could tell you for sure....
I wonder if the weather could be playing a part in your nose bleeds, hopefully, this is just the case.
Bath salts and drug abuse, can leave a persons skin dry and peeling for months, especially street drugs, because of the chemicals that are in them these days.
Have you had a liver function test ?
Might be an idea to rule out liver damage.
Well done on stopping, we are all here for you : )

Hi Jamesj5.. I'm sorry to read you are feeling this way. although I have not used I have read a lot about this and one of the symptoms others have all reported were of increased anxiety that has lasted for months, Hopefully this feeling in your chest will ease soon as for the dryness it very well could be the weather as my son suffered from the same symptoms He got a humidifier for his bedroom It has made all the difference He has had not 1 nose bleed sense getting it. The increase in red blood cell is curious did your Dr. say what could cause this ? Anyway I sure hope that you start to feel better very soon You may try getting in some extra exercise and get outside as much as possible, this may help with the depression.. I wish you well. lesa

Your should be proud of yourself to have made the decision to stop using , it does take time for our bodies to get back to normal after abusing ourselves with drugs, it can take several weeks to several months to recover and feel normal again, hang  tough your going to make it, it took me several months to get back to normal from a long time opiate addiction. Good luck.
