Yep....i looked up the nalexone??? Why are these damn drug names so close? I thought subs were buep**** and naloxone?
Hi well I dident know so I went on the internet and there was a double blind study in Sweden 1/2 the people where given the drug 1/2 where given a placebo and the ones who had the actual drug did a lot better so this may be a option for you it also stated that every body in the test got consoling for aftercare and even the ones without the drug did ok the statistic sad that of the ones given the drug 50% did not go back out there but only 30% with the placebo that is almost 50% better I would try both the drug and start going to N/A i tried a substance abuse counselor a shrink and it wasent till I hit the rooms of N/A that I started to see progress and today for the most part have lost the desire to use I would recamend the progam to anyone this gives you something to think about 27ys is a long time...Gnarly
@motye, look up the difference in naltrexone and naloxone. They are totally different and with an upper as a drug of choice, I'm not sure what suboxone would do. I haven't seen it used for meth or studied for that purpose. That is assuming they mean methamphetamine, not methadone.
@icci, do you mean methamphetamine or methadone?
also, I agree that your therapy doesn't seem to be satisfying your needs. What kind of therapy have you tried so far? I like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychoanalysis doesn't really help me much, but does wonders for some. I was on high dose street methadone and am certainly glad I had aftercare in place, as I detoxed. Wow! what a ride! and so worth it. Anyway, how much of what you trying to kick? What have you tried so far?
If you have been on methamphetamines for 27 years u will be the 1st person that i will say YES, a suboxone program might be exactly what you need. It will allow u to get the meth out of your system and keep u off of drugs long enough to get your **** in order. Time to figure out why you hate being in your own skin....doesnt sound like the therapy your doing is working though???
I took suboxone for an awfully long time and normally, i would be an advocate against it, however, 27 yrs is a long damn time and you will need time to get better. Taking naltroxone correctly does come with its own rules too though....therapy, n/a, a/a, getting to the root of your issue, otherwise, "it" keeps you clean, not you, and when you attempt to get off, you WILL w/d off of it...
