methadone withdrawal

Hi,
I was on heroin for 5 months.
I stopped last week and have now for one week been taking 40mg of methadone.
I want to stop this now so I dont get hooked on it for too long.
How bad will it be after one week at 40mg a day?

I'm sorry if this has crossed the line as well Avis.  I didn't realize what i was doing until I had already posted it.  There really should be a way to modify posts.

You should start coming down from 40 now if it's been 1 week, you don't need that much.  After a full-blown oxy addiction - short acting opiate just like heroin...don't know if oxy is available in Switzerland - I was taking 10, 15, maybe 20 mgs. a day at 1 week off the oxy and getting by just fine.  Listen to Gnarly, methadone is nothing to **** with.  On it, then off it as fast as you can.

hey dude...well if your going from H to methadone and want to stop the done
you need to taper off it slowly otherwise your probably in for some prity ruff withdrawals
you can go by 5ml drops till you hit 20 then by 2ml drops
the best taper is 10% drop in dose every 72 hrs  it brings you off relatively quick
with the minunum  of withdrawals ...there is a certain amount of discomfort that comes
with kicking any way you do it but the slower you go the eazer it is in the end
good luvk and God bless.....Gnarly
