I have never taken Revia, but I saw it given to people I was in rehab with, and there is not a person alive big enough to get one of those down me!  I have been to rehab a lot....a LOT....and I have never seen people that sick in my life.  They were about to die...or so they thought!  They looked horrid.  I think it is ok to take AFTER wds but not during or before....no way!

Good luck though!  Stick around.  You will get lots of help here!!!

Oral Naltrexone is somewhat of a detox but not in the traditional sense.

What happens when you take the oral naltrexone is you are put into precipitated withdrawals, which are quicker but more severe than regular withdrawals.

This causes unecessary stress on you rmind and body, and I would reccommend against it on your own.  Naltrexone has a short hold over until it is built up in your system, so you would need to take it for a few days.  You may be withdrawing over these few days, which you would do anyway.

Have you thought about going CT, and then beginning the Naltrexone a few days later as a safety net?

This is what Revia was originally designed for, not as a detox medicine.  It was designed as a deterrant.  Why use drugs if you cant get high right?  It has also been used for alcohol dependance as well.

There is a new medication on the market called Vivitrol.  It is a sustained release injection form of Naltrexone. Its a once a month shot.  It is currently only approved for alcohol addiction, but is in being investigated as a treatment option for opiate dependance as well

Another thing, what kind of recovery are you working.  You say yourself you cant stop, and you may be able to detox, but what is going to keep you from going back?  Just playing devils advocate here, but I wish you nothing but the best of luck!

Henry.
